We are considering listing our points for resale in late November after an upcoming trip. Can we list it with multiple services (Fidelity, Timeshare Store, etc?) or are we limited to listing with just one company?

Thanks!

Yes, you can list it with multiple companies.

I'd suggest listing it before your trip, with a "close after" statement. The full process of listing, selling, ROFR, and closing takes a couple of months from start to finish. You can list as "close after" without inconveniencing prospective buyers at all.

The Timeshare Store, Inc.® has an open listing, so you are free to list your DVC property with us and any other broker that also has an open listing.

If you list with a broker that has an exclusive listing, you cannot list with any other broker, only that broker.

Please give us a call if we can be of help.

Robert

Are you just selling excessive points or are you getting out of the DVC?:

Actually we bought our contract from the timeshare store and likely will list it with them as well. We want to sell our points and purchase new points at SSR. We love OKW but are moving so we want to use the profits to assist in moving expenses and then once settled buy a new contract through Disney so we can use them on a cruise, etc.

Just remember that what when you sell your OKW points there is a 10% commission paid by you to whoever you list with. Buying SSR directly from DVD is going to cost you about 40.00 - 50.00 per point MORE then what you can sell your OKW points for. That is in today's market and we all know DVD prices will go up. If you are selling a 100 point contract and buying the same it is going to cost you A LOT of money! You may be better off to rent your points for several years and keep what you have and SAVE money in the long run. Just a suggestion.

Agreed! :thumbsup2

If you have too many OKW points and want to downsize then it might make sense to sell and buy SSR later but the price of SSR direct will most likely only increase as well and any money you get now to put towards things will probably be given back two fold or more to DVC. Your OKW points you currently have can be used for cruises so going the rental route to get some cash now might make more sense and when you're ready to use your DVC it'll already be there.
