I think we've all done the having to wait for that certain someone to find the right shoes to go with whatever bit. I think I've figured out how to make the situation work.
Phase I: Make sure that the time you say the even starts at is an hour before it actually starts.
Phase II: On the evening of, go ahead & surf the web, watch the game or whatever that you can do for short or long periods of time. Don't bother getting ready.
Phase III: If she's ready too soon or you want to watch a little more of the game, here's what you do - when she comes out & asks if you're ready, it means that she's picked her outfit, *and this has to be done just right* simply kind of look her up & down once & say "hmm" to yourself. She'll ask what's up, just shrug & say "I dunno" & a outfit change is coming again. You've just bought yourself at least another 10 minutes.
Phase IV: When she comes out & asks if you're ready, go ahead & start getting dressed because saying you're ready at this point is always followed by "I just have to do my makeup". The time for a guy to get dressed is about the same as the makeup process.
Phase V: Grab the keys, make great time & not worry about how it looks being really late (because you won't be).
Now I can't promise success or that it won't be eventually figured out, but good luck!
