After an hour waiting to speak to a cast member, I just wanted to see if I could move my trip to another week this June. Answer is nope.

Not really sure what we’re going to do now. 🤔

Btw - the cm I spoke to wasn’t the typical friendly voice and sounded stressed out. I hope people aren’t being jerks.
100% people are being jerks having felt jerked around by Disney, but the that's customer service life for you.

Does anyone know when your reservation is removed from MDE? Everything is still there so I’m guessing it’s later?

I haven’t touched my reservation yet even though I got the email.

Lots of reports of cancellation emails now(from off this board). Read everyone's posts from yesterday we were all trying to say there is no 5pm wed rule! I said yesterday it was coming , Disney has no signs of opening.

This should be a good "lesson" a few pushy people on here acted like it was in stone that if they didn't get an emails at 5pm wed everyone's trips was ON. This is you making your own rules and confusing people. You confused alot of people! We all told you it was not a sign at all. Please take this lesson for the next round. There will be more rounds , they are not opening all resorts at once in the best case scenario.

Cool. And when they open before your predicted date of “way after July 1st”, we’ll remind you that you were wrong. Deal?

one hour and 53 minutes into my call; was able to change my dates into July - but now they want to charge me more for my tickets? I'm being very polite, but really?
Yes. Disney has held firm if your rebooked trip is more expensive in any way you must pay the difference.

On the bright side you can get money back/aren't out money for your tickets if you don't go. If you had bought your tickets separate you would get them auto-extended to 12/15 if the park was still closed on the dates they were to be used.

Did you try to move it & keep free dining or you couldn’t move it at all?

So how will I get notified? I rented points through a company, so the owner of the points made the reservation. The agent I work with said I will just see my reservation fall off the ME my plans area. So now I'm worried that I won't hear until the actual date. Anyone using rented DVC point been informed & how far out?
You need to head over to the DVC section on the boards. DVC point cancellations are an entirely different ballgame than cash cancellations and because you rented there is another layer of complexity.

Ummm....It’s a fact that the trend has been to cancel on Wednesdays into Thursday. No one said it was a rule. You seem to be pretty pleased with yourself for knowing things everyone knew already. I’m just wondering what I told you so does to help. Having been through this once, I can assure you having it rubbed in your face does not.

And if you could post a link to the official announcement that WDW will not be opening all resorts at once, that would be great. Otherwise you’re just spreading rumors and pushing your personal opinion as fact.

Probably why they have been doing this "rolling" cancellation (week by week) approach. So their call center isn't flooded with a bunch of people at once. Disney probably knows right now when they plan on re-opening, they just can't say, afraid they will be flooded with calls for cancellations and/or rebookings.

Yeah I think that’s bad business. Right now they want to curb attendance, but they had better be careful with a deep recession possibly depression looming, ppl will have few little discretionary money & word will get out about how all this was handled.

Were the tickets part of a package or separate? If they were separate they should automatically extend to 12/15/20 within the next few days.

I didn’t have free dining just the discounted room package, sun and fun I think. She would not let me move it to any date in June at all.

It’s funny because I asked to move it to any other date in June and she said 2021? I said, no even move out a date a week. I got the standard response “we are not taking any June reservations.” Then I said I’ll have to decide what to do and we hung up and now decided to leave it alone to see what happens. Personally, I think for people who have reservations which extend into the next week where they may be open, it’s only right to allow the reservation to be moved, but I’m sure there are logistical reasons they can’t do it.

this is the same person that created a new thread to say

“At best i think we will see 1 WDW park open this summer.”

and

“I do think its crystal clear we will not see all theme parks and hotels open on July 1.”

based literally on nothing other than his opinion.

At least people that had gotten excited about the non-cancellations had 8 weeks worth of trends to base their excitement on.

I do think its crystal clear we will not see all theme parks and hotels open on July 1. They wouldn't do this if cash was gonna start flowing in that soon from theme parks.

100% happy to be proven correct on July 1 when not all Disney parks and hotels are open. It's 100% not a rumor, I know for a fact they are doing a phased reopen.

Facts matter. You mis quoted me. I am too nice I can't even post your insanely terrible predictions , all have been wrong

I got my dreaded email this morning saying my travel dates have been impacted. I knew it was coming but I was still holding out hope. All the work I put into dining reservations and fast passes have been for nothing. Now I have to restart all over and hope my supervisor gives me October 27 through Nov 4th. My husband even came up with the idea of going to Vages or maybe Hawaii. Maybe even Sandles adult only resort. Who knows what I will do. I just worked so hard to plan everything. I know it was nothing I could have done it was beyond my control. I’m just really disappointed right now. Need some pixie dust and any other
Sorry to hear. Keep your head up, better days are coming:)

I honestly think they’re preparing to remain closed in June too. I feel like this is de ja vu from reading about the rolling May cancellations. I think the CM the pp spoke to who said she could change to new June dates was wrong. I bet had the pp agreed & the CM tried, she wouldn’t have been able to. If Universal does open in June, I’ll be very disappointed with Disney.
