i know GNR and Aerosmith werent grunge. Thats why i put a "/" in between Grunge, Alternative, and Rock. So you could name any band that falls in the grunge category by itself or alternative category by itself or rock category by itself.
Yeah didn't catch that. Lol.

Well I hate to burst your bubble but "Grunge" is the Seattle sound. You have to expect that any band that came out of Seattle with that sort of look/sound/meaning/whatever is labled grunge. It's like just about any rock band that came out of L.A. in the 80's is considered a Glam band. :confused3

Also, derrrrr thats what happened when Nirvana became mainstream. The bands that followed in their footsteps are considered "Grunge". It's like how Van Halen got the ball rolling with the L.A. Glam scene, and the bands that followed are Glam bands. :confused3

That's my point. They're labled grunge. Whether they are or not. By definition, Grunge, wasn't mainstream. Until the media made it mainstream. And all the Gen X kids jumped on the bandwagon with their Goodwill flannel and jeans. So I hate to burst your bubble, but most of what is called grunge, isn't. The truest grunge groups never even had great commercial success because they refused to sell out. Their loss. So in the mean time those who were willing to work with the record labels became watered down, radio friendly "grunge". You've got your version of grunge; I've got mine.

You do realize you need the media to be considered mainstream right? :confused3

And you could say the exact same thing with hairmetal.

Umm, okay, I'm going to be AS NICE AS I CAN about this.

First of all, I think I'm qualified to say that Aerosmith isn't 90's Grunge, seeing as how the band formed in 1969, and had their heyday in the mid-70's, and into the 80's. Yes they had success in the 90's, but that doesn't mean they were 90's grunge, which I'm saying they arn't. They just don't fit the bill.

Second, you said to be sure I know what I'm saying and what time period it's from. Well I think I just established that I do know what I'm talking about, and I do know what time period it's from. :confused3

Third of all, I don't know if you were attacking the fact that I made the mistake in thinking that this was a 90's grunge only thread, and thinking that it was said that Aerosmith was 90's grunge. So if that's the case, that's already been addressed, and I acknowledged that.

So if that's your argument, been there, done that.

But even if it isn't, my comment is still vallad. Aerosmith isn't 90's grunge. :confused3

Okay, This is a civil forum. which means, we're nice here. Ever since you joined all you've been doing is upsetting people. If those are really the kind of things you have to say, maybe you should consider finding somewhere else to say them.

We have pretty strict rules here, which is a good thing. It helps keep the peace. And I know that every mod cant read every post, so I'm doing my part as a memeber of this board in telling you that you really should reconsider some of the thigns you've been saying lately.

thanks.
