Stone Temple Pilots
Nirvana
Green Day
Bush
Live
Smashing Pumpkins
Guns N' Roses
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Alice In Chains

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head right now, but i know theres more.

GNR wasn't really a grunge band. They were the tail end of Hairmetal. Aerosmith wasn't a grunge band either.

Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Alice in Chains
Rage Against The Machine

Once again Aerosmith is NOT 90's grunge. =\

The term grunge is way over-used. However, in my opinion, the best groups of the late 80's/early 90's were

Soundgarden
Radiohead
Mudhoney
Primus
NIN
Jane's Addiction
Uncle Tupelo
The Cure
Depeche Mode

Radiohead was definately one of the best groups. There's no denying that.

Of course it is. It's attached to so many mainstream groups that it's lost it's meaning. Anyone from Seattle who wore flannel was automatically "grunge". Whatever. That's what happened when Nirvana's Nevermind came out. I'm not saying it's over-rated, I'm saying the label is over-used. Just like "goth" and "punk". People don't know what they mean anymore.

Well I hate to burst your bubble but "Grunge" is the Seattle sound. You have to expect that any band that came out of Seattle with that sort of look/sound/meaning/whatever is labled grunge. It's like just about any rock band that came out of L.A. in the 80's is considered a Glam band. :confused3

Also, derrrrr thats what happened when Nirvana became mainstream. The bands that followed in their footsteps are considered "Grunge". It's like how Van Halen got the ball rolling with the L.A. Glam scene, and the bands that followed are Glam bands. :confused3

i know GNR and Aerosmith werent grunge. Thats why i put a "/" in between Grunge, Alternative, and Rock. So you could name any band that falls in the grunge category by itself or alternative category by itself or rock category by itself. You can post a band that is just grunge. Or you can post a band that is just alternative. Or you can post a band that is just rock or any other type of rock. Any bands from the 90's you can post.
