We're staying at BCV (first time in a villa) and I'm searching for a list of things to bring. So far I packed laundry dteregent and dryer sheets, liquid dish soap/sponges, and dishwasher detergent. I'm sure I've seen lists on these boards as to what we ought to bring but I couldn't find it anywhere. :confused3 Need help please.

And is there an iron?

Thanks!

They provide dish washer detergent plus dishwashing detergent. They also provide one single use box of Tide. Dish sponge, paper towels, trash bags are all provided. You'll want to bring either dryer sheets or fabric softener if you use it, plus extra laundry detergent.

There will be an iron in the closet with an ironing board.

Thank you - that's a lot less for me to have to bring!!

I usually bring a sharp paring knife for cutting up fruit, cheese etc. as the ones provided aren't that great. I also bring a dish cloth. I find it difficult wiping off counters, table etc. with the tiny sponge that is provided at OKW. I usually throw in a few extra wash cloths. We hang up and re-use our towels, but I like a fresh wash cloth each day.

I always bring a flat griddle for cooking pancakes or french toast. The pans they supply are not ideal for cooking multiple pancakes at a time.:confused3

Also...remember you can ship a package of stuff directly to the BC ..then if you wish ship it home too !!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: guess if you bubble pack it..sure! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Actually, if you go down Disney's "hotel row" by DTD towards Goodings shopping center, make a left, 3 lights down in the Win-Dixie shopping center (on the right)....there's a liquor store and certainly worth the taxi ride :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Something I wished I had was a rubber spatula (some people call it a scraper). I cook eggs every morning and I had a hard time flipping them with the hard spatula they provide.

I'll also bring a dishrag for the same reason mentioned above.

I got 4 packages of dishwasher soap in our 1 bedroom, and a small bottle of liquid dish soap. I didn't think to mention needing more dishwasher soap on T&T day, so I wasn't able to run the dishwasher on check out day. But I'm sure they would have left some if I'd asked.

One thing that we have come to bring everywhere we go is a canvas shoe organizer that hangs over the door. We hang it over the bathroom door and use it to hold everything that normally gets placed on counters. It really helps save counter space (especially when you have a pedestal sink). :thumbsup2

Our list:

Laundry detergent (I pick up a box at the dollar store - its enough to get buy and gets the clothes clean enough).

Coffee filters - Mr. Coffee basket kind

Sugar

Salt and Pepper

Cereal

Peanut Butter

Jam

Snacks - granola bars or trail mix or something

We pick up at the Screen Door (the little Boardwalk Grocery):

Bread
Milk
Eggs
Half and Half
OJ
Margerine

(Disney isn't cheap for groceries - expect to pay convience store prices - but we don't rent a car and this is really efficient for our short list).

Functionally, we scramble or fry a few eggs in the morning and have toast or cereal and make coffee. We do a load of laundry every day or two. I've never found any need for cleaning up anything a paper towel wouldn't handle (if we had a serious spill, we'd call maintenance). We buy pop or water in the parks - more expensive, but water is really heavy to carry and not worth the grocery stop.

If you're doing any cooking I'd try to bring some salt and pepper (maybe stock up on the packets from your local fast food diner).

:wave2: Thanks everyone - I've got a good little list going now!

We're going to be staying in a studio at HHI in September and plan on taking an electric frying pan. When down at HHI, I like to have a good breakfast each morning - eggs, bacon, grits, toast, etc. And then sit out on the deck while eating it. To me there is just something really enjoyable about doing this each morning. So I figure what the heck just take an electric frying pan along and I can still do it. Now I wouldn't do this at WDW. I'm usually more anxious to get out the door each morning plus I like the pastries you find in the parks for breakfast.
