List of Questions...

Ok, I am so sorry if I skipped over everything I read, but I didn't see anything. Is it ok to use your Give a Day, Get a Day ticket and just use it as a giftcard? DBF and I might be getting AP's, so we wouldn't be able to use the ticket. :flower3:

Also, is it ok to order from the kids menu at sit down places? I have never tried but I think I heard of other people doing it. I don't eat very large portions and when we're at DL I won't want any left-overs. I think it would be easy to order kids menus at the counter services.. TIA!

From what I understand, when you volunteer, you either get a free day, a figurine & pin (something like that), or you can give the free ticket to a charity. There isn't any giftcards for volunteering, it's only for the birthday club.

DD13 orders from the kids' menus at times, at both CS and sit down places. The times we've ordered from sit down we let the server know and they say "anyone can order from the kids' menu, normal serving are double the food for double the price." we just say that DD13 (who is TINY) won't eat that much and they let us order from the kids' menus. We DO tip accordingly, if DD13 eats from the kids' menus we do tip as tho she has eaten from the adult menu.

Ok, thanks so much!

Yeah, I don't eat very big portions either, and everyone says I look like 14, so maybe that will be a good idea. Either that or DBF and I order one plate and I eat bites of his, because it doesn't take much for me to be full.

BTW, how was your trip!!! :goodvibes

You could also share, or you could order yourself a small salad and or soup and then eat from his meal as well. When we go to Cafe Orleans DBF and I get 1 Monte Cristo and a bowl of the gumbo, we share both but we don't pay the split plate fee because we aren't really splitting. We also get the Pomme Frites and share. :)
Our trip was fun, not too crowded and we got to do a lot of rides. Monday was especially great because it was so non crowded, we went to DCA and the girls were walking on rides and getting off and getting right back on. It was really cool. :) The turkey dinner at the Jazz Kitchen was sooooooooooooo good too!!

That sounds so cool! I will have to try it some year. I am going to make it a goal to try a Monte Cristo too, I think I'd like it! I just can't wait! I think there's a slight chance DBF might be taking me to DLR this weekend. All of a sudden he is in his super savings mode, so for the last two weeks we've been buying nothing but gas and cheap groceries (I bought my own things on Black Friday, and don't count my measly amount towards his). It's been boring but he said we have saved a LOT. So I think it is because I told him I've never seen F! and DLR while it's all covered in snow and everything. :) This would be the only weekend we are available, so I hope he decides to!! :goodvibes

The list of questions is back! I have to read over everything again to refresh my memory on all of the questions I asked. In the meantime, I have a few more!

1. We already purchased our tickets and hotel. So all we have to pay for is food and suvies. We will be there for 6 days. How much would you recommend putting on a card to spend at DL?

2. I have a gift card to Olive Garden and thought it would be another way to save if we ate at one near DLR. Where is the nearest Olive Garden?

3. Does anyone have a picture of the theme park view from FFI? We requested a theme park view and I hope we get it!

4. How far is FFI from DLR walking distance wise? A lot of hotels say they are walking distance but we all know that's not always the case. :sad2:

FFI is right next door to Hojos, located by Mimi's. I would say it's about a 5 minute walk. (slightly closer than Hojos). :thumbsup2

It's hard to say, our amounts vary based on where we decide to eat, I would budget at least $100 a day. Maybe get a Visa card instead so you can spend what's left someplace other then DL if you have any left. :)

Go to Olivegarden.com and do a location search, that will tell you the closest location. I got some of those for Christmas too, took the kids out for a yummy dinner. :)

I don't know anything about the FFI, except that it's behind Mimi's so not far to walk at all IMO.

I also wanted to let you know about something that happened on our last visit. DD10 wanted to eat at BB for her bday lunch, DD13 didn't want anything off the adult menu, nor did DD10, so I told the server they would be ordering from the kid's menus, he got very rude and said quite snottily "don't tell me that, I CAN'T let you do that if you tell me" but he did take their orders with no problems after that. Had there been a problem I would have spoken to the mgr or we would have just left. I was very annoyed by his rude reply, he did not need to be like that at all. We were planning on tipping as if both girls had ordered from the adult menu but after that reply we did not. Also, DBF dropped us off because there was crazy traffic, so the DD's and I walked to BB and checked in, the hostess said "I have you as a party of 4" I said "yes, that's right, we are a party of 4" she said "Are you all HERE?" again, with a slight snotty tone and I said "yes, one of us just had to take a quick break, he will be here in a moment" she said "because your whole party has to be here", which has never been an issue before, DBF has checked us in while the girls and I take a potty break. Then the girl who seated us asked the same thing, I said "he is here, he had to take a break, he will be here in a minute", we were seated, I knew what DBF wanted and I was able to order before he even got there. So anyway, I don't know what the problem was but at BB we had 3 slightly rude CM's to deal with. Of course everywhere else we ate we had NO problems ordering DD13s or DD10s food from the kid's menus. :)

Hmm, snotty CM's are no bueno! I just want to sit there. I don't care about the food or anything I just want to have a soda and sit by the water. Haha. Hopefully I get a nice CM. :sad2: I looked up Olive Garden, after looking up the area's zipcode. I found one like 6 miles away so that will be great to go to! =) They close at 10 in CA too right? I was thinking it would be great to go for a late dinner, on one of the nights that the park closes at 8. :goodvibes 27 days! I'm so excited!:dance3:

There's no excusing a snotty tone, but in our experience, they have always made it a very big point that the entire party must be present at the Blue Bayou in order to be seated. The "is your entire party here?" question is one we have come to expect as we have been asked it with groups from 12 to 4 for as long as I can remember.
