Can somebody list the financial benefits we receive as a DVC member.

Here is what I have pulled off the DISboards:
* reduced room rate at DVC properties
* $100 discount off of Annual Pass
* Free Valet parking at DVC properties (that offer valet)
* Ability to purchase Dining Plan w/o park access

I am sure there are others... but what are they? I am in the process of finalizing my DVC paperwork for BCV and have yet to find a complete list.

Remember... the criteria is the benefit is exclusively available to DVC members.

I toss out the challenge. :rolleyes1

Cheers

If and when you buy, you'll receive a complete explanation. It's important to remember that all DVC benefits are temporary, and they can and DO change from time to time. The most current updated information is always on the Member website. I would never base a buying decision on DVC on anything other than the benefit to MY family using DVC points at DVC resorts.

There are probably a few benefits you missed, but the most glaring is the DVC Dining discount. We get 10% off most Disney restaurants (and more at a couple) and we also get some discounts at various retail establishments. Again, these discounts are in a constant state of flux, so don't bank on any of them. We have also gotten occasional seasonal discounts for Cirque du Soleil. I also think there was a discount for some tickets to MVMCP, but I'm not sure if that was DVC or AP or both. I'm sure there are others.

Subject to availability -- not automatic

Only if you are staying at THAT resort on points, I believe.

AND pool-hopping. Subject to certain provisos, exceptions, limitations, and restrictions, you can pool-hop to many (but not all) pools.

Free Valet service at BW, BCV and VWL is available to members regardless where they are staying (even offsite).

Pool-hopping is not available at SAB (BC/BCV/YC) and Uzima (AKL) and may be limited at other resort pools based on pool utilization by guests staying at the resort. Pool hopping is also suspended during busy holiday times (Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Years). An annoucement is usually published in VM and on the DVC member's website regarding suspension of PH.

Other perks also vary from time-to-time, but members will get a list of all available discounts when we check in at the DVC resort. A listing is also available on the member's website.

As Jim already noted, these benefits can and do change, so I would not make any purchase decisions based on the available perks at any given time.

Enjoy!

--15% off miniature golf
--20% off selected treatments at the Spa at SSR (APs only get 10%), and 10% off other spas and health clubs (GF, WL, BC, BW)
--Special rates at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course, Disney's Palm Golf Course, Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, Disney's Osprey Ridge Golf Course or Disney's Eagle Pines Golf Course
--15% off at Sammy Duvall's Watersports (APs get 10%)
--Ongoing discount at DisneyShopping.com
--Discounts on some purchases at Disneyland Resort

Once you get into the DVC Members site, you'll be able to see all of them.

Last summer DVC members got free entrance into Paradise Island on Tuesdays, so there are often seasonal benefits as well.

Thank you all for the quick response... can't wait for my contract to complete.

And to all, in the end you always buy for personal reasons (the family experiences in my case).

Cheers to all

Best wishes -

Golf Golf golf. The deal that DVC members get on off season I believe is great. I just booked three round of golf for October for $50 a round plus my guests. Yes there was a membership, but was still a great deal. Kids go to the parks and I play golf.

free movie rental at DVC resorts that have them.
reduced charges on phone charges at DVC resorts.
Reduced fees or free for mini golf at VB depending on timing.
DQ & water park discounts.
