List of Disney Stores Closing

Just got back. Found out that CC is closing. :(

It's more work for me to go to Greenwood.
I'm downtown 5 days a week. :(

Although, the CC store was one that was renovated and it doesn't look very good to me. I think the Greenwood store still has it's original design. Although I don't think that will last long as the mall is being changed over to an outdoor mall.

That stinks! Well, I definitely will make a stop in there just to check them out- it will be my only chance.

It is true...the Disney Store at Virginia Center Commons in Richmond, VA is closing. I was just over there and they had the signs up :guilty:

That is NOT a complete list. Valley View in Dallas and Vista Ridge in Lewisville are both closing and they are not listed. They were, however, listed in the original list that was part of the bankruptcy filing as stores slated to be closed. The list on this thread has come from somewhere else and it is NOT complete. There ARE stores listed in the bankruptcy documents that will remain open (for now) but some that were going to stay open are closing.

If your store is closing in this initial wave they will know. They will already have the signs up, and a rep from the liquidation company will already be working with them. I promise.

I love that store. I have some happy memories of shopping there. My older brother & his family don't live that far from that mall, so whenever we visited there, I would take the kids shopping there. In 1995, my nephews were 4 & my niece was 1. I took the boys shopping there as a reward for great behavior while their parents were away. They each picked out a cup, a game, a Minnie Mouse plush for their sister. Then they insisted on picking out a shirt for me to wear when we went to DL the next month. (it was orange, with some of the Dalmations embroided on it) Of course, I paid for it, but it still was sweet!

I hope this is right, only 1 of the 2 closest to me... but unfortunately this is the nicer of the two...:sad1:

So I called the Lynnhaven (VA Beach) store and they are not closing but the Chesapeake (as stated above) is.... guess I'll be heading to Chesapeake this weekend in search of some deals... I'm still sad though - this store was much nicer than the VA Beach store!!

I called the St. Louis Galleria store - they confirmed that all 4 stores in the area are closing, but she said they didn't have a definate date. :sad1:

I haven't been in a Disney Store for ages. Once Children's Place bought them and they changed them, I wasn't interested in them anymore. Before, going in was like a little taste of Disney and after the remodel it was just awful.

I know. Our store is staying open but I couldn't care less if they closed. It's like a cheap toy store and there is no Disney magic, that's for sure.

Perhaps Disney will reclaim some of it's original charm once they liquidate and remodel some of them. Until then, I never step foot in there.

Makes sense. :) It sounds like those that are closing are already in the early stagesof the liquidation process. Thank you for the additions. I am sure we will be hearing stores here and there that are not part of these 2 lists, but at least they give us a good idea. :)

I know that the list in post 135 is more accurate for my area (north of Phila). The original list had the Montgomery Mall store closing and Willow Grove open and it's just the opposite. Willow Grove will be closing and the one in the Montgomery Mall is staying open. It's a shame as the one in Willow Grove is newer and nicer. However, they are also probably seeing an increase in their rent since they are upscaling this mall even more than it is.

I just called a bankruptcy attorney (a really good one - one of the best in the world) and he said he's pretty sure he could find a list because (and this is everything I understood - I kind of got lost after the first eight words)...
"there would be an exhibit to a motion...blah blah lawyer talk blah blah...I don't know what the motion is but there would be a blah, blah, blah I'm a lawyer so I have to talk like this blah blah...when Disney bought the lease or the blah blah blah...I don't know the name of the company. It would be a little detective work, but I can find it if it is important to you. Can you at least tell me which parties are involved?"
What is the name of the company that went bankrupt? I know it was The Children's Place, but is that the name of the folks who filed or was it someone dba The Children's Place?

Anyone know??

Our paychecks came from Hoop Retail if that helps.
I'll give him that. He doesn't NEED the names, he said he could find out, but it would take more time.

These guys get like $300-$500 an hour, so I hate to make him do even 20-30 minutes for free, yanno? Feel kinda guilty 'bout that.

I don't know if he'll do it tonight, though.

I was at my local mall last night. I saw the list and I saw that my local mall was on there. Well, my mother and I asked and Great Lakes Mall Disney Store is staying open. There are only 4 Disney Stores in Ohio staying open.

The one in Philadelphia Premium Outlets (Sanatoga/Limerick) never even opened. They were supposed to open in April, but never did. You can see where they had the name up and all, but then never opened.

NC
Hanes Mall
Four Seasons Town Center

Looks like the only one I'll have left is at Oak Hollow Mall in High Point. The one at Four Seasons was next to a Victoria's Secret that was moving next to it.

If you are upset about the stores around you closing, please call Guest Relations at 1-866-902-2798. We were instructed by the Disney Company to call!!!

This is insane!

Has anyone actuially called this number, what was their response?

I called it - The woman was very pleasant, but confirmed that many stores were closing. She said she didn't have detailed lists, but that all the decisions had already been made and were final on which stores themselves. She also said there were some plans in the works to offer more merchandise online than they presently do.
