Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Have an awesome trip and I admire your running skills! Hope you will be able to post a picture or two upon your return.

Hi Lisa,

Can you beleive it is almost here!!

We leave on Thrusday too. Have a wonderful time. I know you will do great with the race. Thanks for you all your support throughout training.

Linda and Lola, I hope we can find each other. Thanks for stopping by. Yep, just wrapping things up and at 3:00 today, I will be in full vacation mode.

Dj - I walk, no running here, but I am very persistent and hopefully will make it to the finish line again and get that bling. One day I am going to try to actually run. I used to think that was impossible for me, but now I'm thinking....maybe...:scratchin

Prayers and pixie dust will be most appreciated. :goodvibes

I walked yesterday and won't today but will try to get some stretching in tonight. Back to dance after a month off was a little hard. I am sore again. Gotta work this stuff out, cause I was a little stiff at the track yesterday. Dance uses many muscles that walking doesn't.

April sent me a message that she is all packed and ready to go. I have a pile of stuff in the extra bedroom and am still washing clothes. :rolleyes1 Drives DH crazy when we travel. :lmao: I really tried to start early this time but...... :confused3 I'll be ready.

Printed the boarding passes this morning and have all the confirmation numbers together. 24 hours from now we should be checking into POP. :woohoo:

Just a quick post.
Suitcase is 50% packed, clothes still washing. Everything is printed and in the respective places. April should be here in a couple hours. Not sure what time I am going to get to bed, but am hoping for a few hours sleep.

Anxious, nervous, excited.....just can't wait.

I had a bit of an issue at work this afternoon and while I could take care of it, I was just very frustrated. This person knows I am going on a trip and I just have a very strong feeling that they are trying to put off doing something we need to get through. Sent it back again (for the third time) two hours before I was to leave, telling me I had used an old form and need to use the new one. I got it done and was trying not to let it bother me (could have told me about the new form when it came out four months ago:sad2:) when my boss walked by. He was like, "don't let it get to you, I'll make sure it gets through. You just go to Disney and recharge. Don't think about us while you are gone." I have a very nice boss. :goodvibes

Leaving the house at 5:45 in the morning. Everyone have a great end of week and weekend. We'll talk when I get back. :wave2:

Have fun Lisa and good luck! One of these years, I'll join you Wishers at Pop, man that is giving me an idea or two!:rotfl:

I know you'll do great, it sounds like so much fun.

Maybe he wants insurance so that if something happens he isn't worried he'll get sued or something since its on his property? I hope that helps the situation, if nothing else, it gives you some peace of mind.

Have a wonderful trip, you and April have worked hard for this and you will have a ball! See you when you get back, I'll be cheering you on from Colorado!!:cheer2:

Thanks Amy. Thank you for all the words of encouragement. Nerves can get the best of me sometimes.

I think you may be right about the neighbor. Let's hope and pray.

Well, we are about to be off. Any extra prayers and pixie dust are greatly appreciated.

Woohoo!!!!:woohoo: Have a wonderful time in Disney, Lisa!!!:cloud9: We'll be cheering you on from Ohio!:cheer2:

Hi Lisa, I thought about you last week and know you did just great. I think you might be freezing your buns off right now, what is with this weather? Stay warm, can't wait to hear all about it!:)

Hello everyone! :wave2:

Back from Disney and loved every minute of it. Flight out Thursday morning was absolutely perfect. Perfect take off, perfect flight and perfect landing. Perfect for April's first flight. Found the ME with no problem, lined up and off we went. Wonderful not having to worry about the luggage. At POP we were given a wonderful room. 1460. Top floor of building one on a corner. They knew we were there for the marathon so they put us up top so we wouldn't have kids bouncing on our heads at night. I thought that was very considerate of them. We headed to Wide World of Sports to pick up our race bags and picked up a couple of "I did it!" shirts. (we could take them back if we didn't need them) After lunch we headed to Epcot for the evening.
Friday was the 5K. We arrived in plenty of time and it was a great prelude to the next day. After the 5K we went back to the room for showers and then to AK for breakfast and a little fun. Tusker House was wonderful as always. In the afternoon we went back to POP for a WISH meet, then off to DTD for a little shopping and dinner. Early to bed as 3:30 comes very early.
Saturday we were up on time and out to the bus. Bus was moving along and then....stopped...dead. Took 30 minutes to go 30 feet. Seems an accident happened and for some reason our driver wouldn't go around it. I was getting really nervous as the time was ticking. The rules clearly stated that bags had to be dropped off by 4:30 and you had to be in the corrals by 5:00 or you wouldn't be able to start. It was in bold so I thought they meant business. We didn't arrive to the parking lot until 5:03. Thankfully everything was okay and we got to the corrals just fine, with plenty of time to spare.
For some reason our corral was late starting, but we got off and had a great walk/run. The weather was perfect and we moved right along. Beat last year's time by 7 minutes.
After the race we spent the afternoon in DHS, then went to the Boardwalk to meet a friend from Dallas who was doing the Full. Lots of fun and great conversation.
Sunday was spent at MK. We arrived at 7:30 to cheer for the runners until time for breakfast. We ate at Crystal Palace and then spent the day having fun. We rode almost every ride. Splash Mountain was closed. We just missed the last raft for Tom Sawyer's island and we completely forgot to ride the raceway and Astro Orbitors. But we did everything else, including Goofy's Barnstormer, Dumbo, the carousel and Aladdin's Carpet. Would you believe that we walked onto Dumbo? I'm serious. We walked on. :confused3 For the first two hours we didn't wait for a single ride. Very odd. Then everyone showed up, but with the use of fast passes we didn't wait very long for anything. It was a great day.
Monday, we checked our bags at the resort and headed to Epcot again. We rode Soarin', front row, and then stopped by the character spot to have our pics done. So much fun. Our time at Epcot was over much too soon and we had to head back to catch the ME. Love ME by the way. To have our boarding passes printed for us and have the bags taken care of for us. LOVE IT!!! :cloud9: Our plane was late coming in so we were an hour late getting home. Flight wasn't bad though. We rushed home, quick change and then off to dance.
Next day, I was tired. What a whirl wind trip, but we had a great time. Already looking forward to next year. I am seriously considering doing the Princess 1/2 next year also.

Have fun Lisa and good luck! One of these years, I'll join you Wishers at Pop, man that is giving me an idea or two!:rotfl:

I know you'll do great, it sounds like so much fun.

Amy, you should seriously consider it. We walked much faster than a lot of people run. You could walk circles around them with us. It is great fun.

Lisa glad you and April had so much fun.I probably passed you in AK or MK who knows??? I could have been standing next to you- haha!

Linda

Lisa: I really enjoyed meeting you and April on Friday. Sounds like you did great in the race. We had no bus problems at all, but we heard a few horror stories about SSR. I was lucky enough to walk out to the bus both mornings from the resort and from the race. I would have been a nervous wreck not moving for 30 minutes. Sounds like you also had a great vacation. :thumbsup2

Way to go, Lisa!!!:cheer2: I am so proud of you!

Did you say that you WALKED onto Dumbo? Wow! That is Disney magic for sure!:wizard:

I'm glad that you had a great vacation!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a great day today!

You are so right. I was having so much fun that I kept forgetting to check people's bibs for names. And we probably did see each other, and congratulate each other.

Yes Tracy, WALKED onto Dumbo and the Tea Cups, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, Small World and Haunted Mansion. Unreal! All of the shows we saw, we just had to wait for the next one to start. It was a great MK day.
Thank you for all the encouragement. You are one great friend.

Lisa, I am so glad you had so much fun and that the races were a success! I knew you would do great. So is April going to fly again?

That day at MK sounds like sheer heaven, walking on Dumbo is a miracle I think!

I'm glad you had such a great time, Lisa!

How has your week been? Are you ready for the weekend?

Amy - April loved flying so much that she said she is never driving to Disney or anywheres again. Then I reminded her how much it would be for her family to fly versus driving.

Tracy - this week was much better than last week (no headaches). Now is is Friday and I have two days with only one thing planned. :woohoo:

I am trying very hard to not multi-task and take one thing at a time. Which brings me to this. I have thought quite a bit about the past year and while I didn't completly succeed, things are better.
My health is better. Granted I am still having headaches on a regular basis, but I am finally figuring out what is causing them. Stress, certain lighting and certain foods. I am also trying hard to get more sleep. Overall my health is better. I made it through the year without any strep throat or flus. I also haven't had to visit my GP in the past year.:banana: Also, I didn't have any breathing issues at this year's marathon. Granted the weather probably helped, but I think the exercise helped too.

Finances - While I don't have everything paid off as I wanted, things are better. I only have two things left to take care of and that should be done in a couple of months. Granted I finally had to give in and let DH get his pool. Yeah I know, :confused3 I'm trying to pay everything off and then I mention a pool. We are going to get a bit more than we need from the bank and pay off the cards. The interest rate will be much cheaper and by doing this we will actually pay less interest. I know a lot of people warn against this but I think it will work how I want it to. DH finally understands (I hope) that he has to give me all of his receipts in a timely manner so I can keep track of everything. Plus there will be limits set. I am so determined. We paid off a small loan 6 months early yesterday and the feeling was so awesome. Plus, by planning ahead I was able to pay for a new vaccum. Vacation and Christmas were paid for completely in cash. :woohoo:

You have lots to celebrate, my friend!:cool1: Good health, improving finances, a new pool, and another 1/2 marathon under your belt! Way to go, Lisa!!!:cheer2: I am so proud of you!

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. :goodvibes

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

P.S. Love your new ticker!:thumbsup2 Have you stayed at AKL before?

Hi Lisa
Glad to hear everything is moving in the right direction. Are you thinking of AKL? I thought I would never like it but my DD and I stayed there in June and I loved it.

Linda

Lisa, I am so proud and impressed with all you have accomplished! I think you were very wise with how you did your pool, lower interest is always a good thing and you have to think of the value you have added to your house, how much use you will get not to mention enjoyment from the pool and in the end, we can't avoid spending money or we just feel deprived and fall off the wagon! So good job!

Yeah, if we lived closer we'd probably opt to drive to Disney but for us flying and driving cost about the same (its almost 1900 miles) and when you add the time and the miles to our car we end up flying. Tell April she should fly and let her husband drive the kids out by himself!:rotfl:

Thanks for your pm, I am doing okay just down with a bad virus. You are a true friend!
