Well, I might as well get this thing started. I know that I will forget something by the time that we get home and then it will take a week to post.
Pre day one ( friday night ). It was about 7:00pm and I was going to load the cart up so we could leave early in the morning. As I pulled the cart out of the shed I noticed a small piece of metal on the ground. Upon closer inspection, this was a peice of metal that I had put between the axle and leaf spring of the rear end of the cart when I moved the springs from the bottom of the axle to the top ( to get a coule extra inches of lift ). Without these, the axle would move forward and back. Unable to manufacture a new one ( I found one but both were gone ), I had to take the springs off and re-mount in the stock position for fear of serious problems on the trip. This was a couple of hours that I had not scheduled for.
Day one ( Saturday ). I had hoped to leave by 7:00 am but we didn't actually get going until about 9:00. I found out that $120.00 in gas did not give me as much as $75.00 did on the last trip. Finally made it down at about 11:00am and of course, our site was not available. They said we could have a site right away in the 1300 loop but, we decided to wait for our 900 site. When we got the all clear and started heading for our site, it started to rain and lightning. Off I go to take the cart off the trailer and move the trailer to the back of the site. I got good and wet at this point but managed to get it all unhooked and the camper backed in. I put the jacks down, power hooked up, awning out and,,,,it stopped raining @$%@$..At his point I went to put the slide out and the #$% power hookup was right at the slide. I go to move the camper and the rear jacks don't want to go up. No problem, I'll "help" them a little,,,,,is that rain again #^%^,,If I wasn't at the Fort I would be loosing my mind at this point. Re-situate the camper, put the slide out and,,,,rain stops
. I did the rest between showers and all was right with the world. Somehow it doesn't seem fair that I'm now wet and agravated and Lisa is on the couch reading a book having the time of her life but, I was not about to compound the problem by ticking her off. after a little calming down, we went over to Kahunas site and got to meet a few people. We opted to cook the wings at our site so we weren't around much in the begining but, made up for it later. I'm sure that more will be posted on the GG later so I will hold off on that for now. I will say that everyone seemed to have a good time and meeting everyone was awesome.
