Lisa & Trace-1/25/2011-WP/GF - we got our wedding pics!

Love all of your plans! I even watched your You Tube video on the bus...love you both - you make a great couple. You're too cute together! I am not a bride, well I was ten years ago and I venture here now and again to drool over Disney bride to-be's PTR's. Good luck with everything! You will make a gorgeous bride!

I love the e-pics you posted!!! I also did my e-pics with David and Vicki and love them to death!! We have already booked them for our wedding in 2012!! Our friend just got married in Sarasota and she ended up using David and Vicki, I'm sure you have seen a few pictures from their Facebook. I can't wait to see more of your e-pics!! I'm so jealous your going on the maiden voyage of the dream!!:worship: We got engaged on the cruise ship and now trying to save for the wedding I'm trying to convince DF to go on a few more sailings before then:rotfl:

Hey! I just read through your PJ, and I love everything you're doing. I think you have some really unique ideas, and I really like the RSVP's you made. I'm getting married just about a week before you!!! :cool1: Also, your e-pics look gorgeous! I understand how you feel about picking yourself apart in pictures, but honestly, I think your makeup is fabulous and you look great. We just booked the Arndts, and I've been nervous thinking it'd be awkward having someone take our pictures, but I'm glad to see you had a great session with them. I look forward to reading more! popcorn::

Just catching up on your plans - everything sounds WONDERFUL! I definitely relate to feeling overwhelmed by all of the decisions... sometimes I think this board stresses me out as much as it helps because it keeps giving me more and more ideas that either I can't afford or don't have time to do. But oh well - it's fun to see everyone's creativity and beautiful plans!

LOVE your dress, both long and shortened versions of it (who cares how old you are! Wear whatever makes you happy!). Trial hair and make-up was perfect, too! No worries... You are in good hands with Karen, Jessie, Elizabeth, David and Vicki (I'm working with all of them, too, for our 9/13/10 wedding at WP/Whitehall).

just thought i would throw this up to help folks out. things are still super busy but it's less than 6 months now! hope to finish invites this weekend, mail out a trial invite, then send them out!

Thanks for sharing the BEO, Lisa.:thumbsup2 Very helpful.
I love your e-pics. I'm having David and Vicki do mine too. I still have a few pounds to lose though. I can't wait to see more!:cutie:

greetings fellow dizzy brides!!

although i continue to read the boards once (ot twice or three times..) a day, i just haven't posted too much. lots going on and i am freaking out and blah at the same time!

got the epics back - the pics themselves are great - can't say enough good things about the arndts and anyone using them will not be dissapointed. of course, i am feeling really critical about myself (as is DF) in the pics, but thats a self image issue not a photgraphy one and they really make the most of what you do have!!

i know i am not the largest bride ever (and if i were, ain't NOTHIN' wrong with that!!!!), but, for me, i continue to carry about 40 pounds more than i have the last 2 years. and sadly, there was a time in my life, after my mom died, when i would have killed to weight what i wiegh today. i just don't feel good and i know that i acutually LIKED looking at pictures of myself 40ish pounds lighter cause i looked good!! :rotfl2: although i am about to go on week 3 of CT5K as soon as i finish typing, and i'm on the wieght loss thread, i'm just struggling. eating when i am not hungry and eating crud. i have all the internal need and motivaton yet, not getting it together at all.

DF is having the same struggle and has been gaining weight. he has yet to do anything to investigate what he's going to wear to the wedding beyond me asking questions and providing links etc... i love him and think he looks fine, but just feel that if wither of us aren't feeling like the most fantastic physical specimens, more attention to fit, outfit and the like will help us feel better. but instead, he is eating candy! eek!!:scared1:

i've started working, which is a relief, but not full time, so there is some limbo there and some weirdness around when i will be full time and when benefits will begin.

oh and the garage is still full of my junk, and theres nowhere to put anything because his place was already stuffed to the gills and, bless his heart, i am marrying a bigger pat rack than me!! could that be possible?!?!

oh, and PS, it's less than 5 months away. invites are finished and i feel like they look like a kindergarten art project!! all we need to do is address and numer the RSVP cards and mail. will aim to mail monday. sent a test one to his mom ( cause i am NOT making anymore of those goofy things!!:) ) and all went well.

still no event BEO, but our floral BEO WITH lanterns is still around 1600ish. which is great UNLESS the event BEO says that the hanging of the paper lanterns is over a couple hundred bucks. that would be ridiculous, but nothing surprises me anymore!!

Lisa,

I think you look beautiful in your pictures.:thumbsup2
I'm struggling with the extra 40 lbs I've gained over the past two years and I don't have that wonderful waistline that you have. You and Trace look so happy together!

I hate moving and all that it involves. You must be so busy. I can understand why you haven't been posting as much. Hang in there!

I love the pictures! They look wonderful! Best wishes on everything, can't wait to read more

alrighty then, i do not have either the time or the inclination at this moment to scan and post all my documents i recieved to day in terms of the BEO!! but we recieved it today and have just gone over it together and emailed karen back.... :rolleyes1

so, here's where we stand - wedding for 42 guests, WP/WHP is rolling in at about 16600K on this first go round. :scared1:

it's not bad at all considering, but, we need to be closer to 14K total and i think all the true superflous stuff is already not included, the only fat to cut i fear is the delicious fat that we want... like - characters (mad hatter AND alice $~1350); MK AND AK portrait (could do just one); confetti cannon (but we're doing no other decor at the WP).

our floral BEO is pretty bare bones, running about 1600 - no floral at the WP, really no floral other than the sweetheart table at the reception, no additional decor at all for the pre-reception, non-floral table centerpieces at about 100/table + my fabulous lanterns that apparently are going to run under $500 which i think is alot of bang for the buck. i don't *think* the amount of floral is so staggering that changing to an outside vendor is going to make THAT much difference or be worth the effort to make it happen.

one thing we are asking about is the menu - what we have NOW, after the PS is the following -
pre-reception: coffee/tea, breakfast breads ($6.5pp), sliced fresh fruit with yogurt dip ($8.75pp)

reception:
yogurt parfait martini
asian field green salad
smoked salmon with cream cheese and bagel crisps
cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread
seared chicken breast dish
mashed red potatoes
penne pasta dish
mickey waffles
bacon and sausage
omelet station
assorted pastry

ok, yeah, one US a-s-s load of food, i know..... i know we had a discussion about bread and the fruit and me wanting to add in the salad etc... i can't remember now if there was a specific discussion about the cost of moving the parfait deal versus something else, it seems like there was, but then again, i was adverse to having tables at all ourt there so maybe thats what the initial issue stemmed from, people not having a place to set things plus they charge you MORE to set food over here than to set it over there??? um, hellooo?????:snooty:? i think pastries are fine and perfect, but maybe the parfait out there intead? i still think what about if it rains or is really cold? if they are charging you extra $$ to serve stuff in a second location and the "back up" to the patio is the freaking hallway, noce hall way though it may be, if we don't use the patio it seems like a big waste tha we have to eat (so to speak!). i personally would raher have one enue plushed out to the max than a good one and a half-a__ed one, but it seems to freak the planner out that i don't think we need this transition thing (for extra cost) at all. but we aren't being charged for the standard linens so i'm just trying to configure it to the best cost advantage.

ok, so brunch - there is a ton of food!!! we are talking about it now and i am thinking how weird would it be to leave the entire omelet station OFF. i mean, we know have 2 filling entrees, mickey waffeles, bacon and sausage, a fairly heavy soup and a salad. and cake. i wonder if that could make a meaningful change in our food cost while still allowing us to meet whatever deal we need to meet. would that be weird? i think overall i want it because it says "brunch" but, we still have waffles and i think the menu seems less heavy without it... but will that be a mistake?

if we removed that, but kept more fresh fruit and removed the bread/pastry deal towards the bottom of the menu, would that change our price at all?

i'm just kind of blah. its just barely 5 months, we have no money!:scared1: i started up with a personal trainer (because i'm so rich), but i gained 5 pounds last week. still lots of stress at home about getting settled in and fixing the house, getting the DF registered for school, GAH!!!

on the wedding tip however, we sent out our invites nad have gotten really sweet compliments on them! and gotten 3 RSVPs! annoyingly, when i took my mock up to the post office in june and then was a goofball and ordered pesonalized stamps, and despite having mailed a test invite to his mom that made it fine with the postge we put on (0.64), when trace took the bundle of invites in they made him buy like 20 cents extra stamps! so lame! i dont want to be the girl who freaks out about the stamps, but i would have just done total regular stamps mish mashed everywhere. i went against my judgement and oredeed cute stamps - with more postage than what the post office told me, and it still didn't work out. arg!

first, we love all the foods we tasted, really love them!

now i'm thinking:

coffee/tea+pastries for prereception

then:
parfait v. fruit salad
asian field green salad
smoked salmon with cream cheese and bagel crisps
cheddar cheese soup with pretzel bread
seared chicken breast dish
mashed red potatoes
penne pasta dish+vegetables
mickey waffles
bacon and sausage

mmmm all that food sounds great!

Looks like you have so much to think about, but you seem very organised :goodvibes - hope you don't have to cut out the bits that you don't want to, like the characters!

Emma princess:

Emma princess:
me neither!!!! but we could do one character (but i strangely have a fear that the cast member would be nervous without a partner to play off of. how weird am i?? i also realize looking at the BEO that just taking any fruit entirely off the pre-reception and including whichever version at the brunch will be like less $400 maybe.

Just following along! If it were me, I would rather cut the pre-reception over the characters. Were doing a brunch/lunch reception and are not having a pre-reception, I feared people will fill up on food before the reception itself. And pre-receptions just seem expensive! :)

your response made sense to me - and then i realized we just went out our invites and we do say thay there is a "pre-reception"! oh well!! not that we couldn't content folks for clarity. but i think you are bolstering me to just do the coffee and danish. period. we are only doing the house linens and no decor anyway.

another thread stated someone did just mimosas for their brunch bar, BOC, and they didn't have to have a bartender fee. i wonder if that would apply to us havinf mimosas and blody marys? i assume that means they had pitchers os mimosas?!?! yummmmmmm

Just caught up with everything. I love your e-pics you look fabulous. I too am not thrilled with the weight I am at and two/three years ago I was a size 6 but now I have a stressful job and work long hours and can't get to the gym everyday, I injured my knee and then developed plantar faciitis so exercising is hard. (Boy turning 40 really does catch up with ya huh?) Nor do I try to survive on what I ate then so I run a size 10/12 on top (big chested always) and 8/10 on the bottom. Staying a size 6 was bloody hard work. So I took the attitude that I am what I am, I am not fat but not driving myself nuts eating like a bird. I am not a spring chicken anymore. I followed the biggest loser diet before the wedding and really enjoyed it mainly because you eat fresh food and lost a few pounds to boot. But in the end I forgave myself and decided to just enjoy myself at my own wedding. Hope this helps and you can find some peace.

On the cost of the wedding - you will only get to do this once don't regret cutting anything that you really want. I cut the pre-reception and was really glad that I did. Nobody missed it. In my opinion most people will want a drink and a bathroom break then by the time that is done you'll be moving on to the brunch.
