Lisa & Trace-1/25/2011-WP/GF - we got our wedding pics!

Lisa, are we looking at the same photos?!? You look beautiful in every one of them! You look fit and toned, your makeup and hair look great, and there's NOTHING "clownish" about the way you look!! And "blobby"??? No way!!

I know we have a tendency to be harder on ourselves than other people, but I absolutely promise you, I am not just being nice ... you truly look great in all of the photos. Thank you for sharing them with us! :goodvibes

well you are quite kind - there are several i do like, and i wanted to do a different hair do and different make up etc... to have more variations in the pics. but i think my wedding day look was more flattering!

anyways, the HM ones are cool and that little reflection in the water actually happened, not photo shop! so that was cool...:woohoo:

I don't care what you think, Lisa, because I think you looked beautiful in your pictures. The pictures on the train tracks are so pretty. I haven't seen anything like that before.

I also absolutely LOVE your Haunted Mansion pictures! I may have to swipe your spots for those.

ITA about the HM photos ... my very favorite one is of the two of you in black and white with your foreheads touching. It's just stunning. If that was mine, I'd blow that baby up to 16x20 and hang it in my front room!

I agree....I love your pictures. The Haunted Mansion one with your heads showing up in the water reflection is so cool!!!!
I love the last one where you two are looking back and you can see your blue crinoline. There is another beautiful shot that I love where you two are in front of the castle near the partners statue...love, love, love it.

I also think your makeup looks great and I like the variation of your hair and veil.
I am trying to convince Brian to do a castle shoot for our 1 year anniversary since we had to cancel our for the wedding. I'm going to show him these pics for inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing. :flower3:

yeah, i huess i like more of them than i thought, i just went through and "favorited" some and it is certainly more than 10.... just the ones i dont like, i REALLY don't like... too bad about the flip flops too, i should have put on a nicer pair of flats,,,, wonder if they could photoshop in a glass slipper??!?

funny about the train tracks - wewere driving out of MK, and both ty and regina remarked at the sametime that they wanted to try doing some pics on the tracks... then they both looked back at us and asked if we were game! i foresee yet another unusual spot for portraits!!

Hi Lisa,

Thank you so much for sharing your photos.. they are amazing, you look beautiful & so happy!

It must have been a great experience to be in the Magic Kingdom before it was open.. what time did you have to be there?!

Really like the ones in the castle walkway & on the carousel, the colors really 'pop' :goodvibes .. and the Haunted Mansion ones, very cool!

our time was changed to 730 and it was the day after the tornado warnings and crazy rain that thankfully didn't come until way after the reception! so, i thought the light wasn't bad, as far as those concerned about the day v. night deal.

being there was both neat and not neat! neat because you drive in through a side entrance and we parked in frontier land! there are lots of cars and hustle and bustle - but the park is technically open because there were all kinds of folks going to eat at cinderella's. i mean, we got the pics pretty well and people were very nice but we couldn't like go into that stairway that lots of people have pics on because it was filled up with people!:scared1:

but the photographers were nice and i am glad we gave it a try. for me, i would have wondered and dreamed that some elusive stunning picture had eluded me! this way, i at least know!

still trying to unpack (OMG i cannot believe the room i have in my closet without the ginormous wedding dress in it!!!!!!) and back to work tomorrow. will start us a trip report and reviews and what not maybe this weekend. that photobucket picture posting deal wears me out!

Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous Photos! Stunning! I cant wait to see pics from your entire day!! You looked beautiful and I can tell you and your husband are very happy together! Congratulations on marrying your prince charming! :goodvibes

You know, I hadn't even thought of that 'til you just said it. I was already wondering if it would be worth taking a chance on the MK photos, but now knowing that we can't get shots inside the castle ... :sad1: The castle photos were the big draw for me and what honestly started us thinking about a WDW vow renewal; if I can't get the ones I really want, I can't see paying over a grand! Waaaahhhh....

I agree with this!! That picture is GORGEOUS!!!

I agree that the pictures are stunning, I really love the haunted mansion pics. You looked great!!

Your pics came out great! Such unique and cool shots!!! You def dont look bad in them AT ALL! I esp love tyour blue underskirt and the matching sneakers!

What they said! :rotfl: Makeup, lovely. Haunted Mansion shots, train tracks shots—these are fresh and original, and you two look great!

Can't wait to read the story of the big day! popcorn::

Okay Lisa, sorry to be boring, but I agree wholeheartedly with what all the girls have said!!!!
IMHO you look stunning in the photos - not clownish or blobby, and your hair and make-up look great and really suit you!!!
All round beautiful pictures of a stunning couple!!!

like most folks end up saying, i want to wait for our professional pics, but, given the dreary weather around here,i guess i will start off with what i have and work up to some reviews. i know i found them SUPER helpful over the past year and i think a lot of things turned out so well for us that i'd like to share them with the "newbies" here! :rotfl:

on thursday, 1/20/11, trace, myself, his son miles and his mom, sharon all trucked off to DFW airport to catch our 6am flight to orlando. yes, trace couldn't pass up park time, no matter how tired he might be. flights were uneventful (other than paying for the extra 8 million pieces of luggage). i should stop here and say that we did end up mailing my dress to carolyn allen's (in a medium sized standard cardboard box - shipping with insurance was under $30), and sending many of the wedding projects and doo dads to the time share office.

weather was nice when we arrived, picked up the rental car - and only had one minor heart attack when future MIL suddenly thought she left her purse in the airport. luckily she did not and we found our way to the all-star vacation homes office where we got all the info on our condo. it was quite nice - 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (yes!), w/d, full kitchen, internet access.

we then made our way to DHS, were able to get on TSMM (which miles and i referred to all weddingfest as "toy story midway MANIAC" as we felt the lines could inspire homicidal activity), and i ate for the first time at sci-fi dine in and found it to be just like people say, kinda bad food, great atmosphere. we toyed with seeing fantasmic, but the vote was to head home that evening (yay!).

friday was try on tuxes day, deliver welcome bags and generally tie up loose ends. we found carolyn allen's, and the owner (co-owner?) was helping trace and miles with their tuxes. that went well. i was looking around the fitting room for my dress, and he even asked me if trace had seen my dress yet (no), it was funny because he then made a show out of moving some random dress out of the room so "the groom wouldn't see it!" - not sure if trace even picked up on that though!

next we hit several resorts to drop off welcome bags. they ended up containing:
  • welcome brochure with info/telephone #s...
  • door hangers with the wedding dateand weddingfest logo on it
  • tea cup votive holder favor
  • personalized tea and coffee bags
  • post cards to mail back to us (pre-stamped/addressed)
  • small pens
  • various heart and chocolate candies
  • "cry packets" - tissues with logo and ribbon on them
  • shout wipes
  • hand sanitizer
  • cup cake band aid

all the CMs at the resorts were basically quite helpful but noone was given their bags or told that bags were there for them? so we called and texted everyone to ask for them. BTW, we did have each parties name, reservation # and arrival date on each bag with an index card in addition to my little flower name tags.

we ended up at wilderness lodge and decided to do whispering canyon for lunch. of note, it got really cold (ok, it was shilly - 45?) and rainy thaat day. very much a drag. after checking out the resort, we went to downtown disney to check things out.

i'd been looking for the aforementioned grooms gift, was thinking i might spy an entire box of, say, the star wars vinylmations and get a box, but wasn't sure how to get something that big back to the condo without attracting attention. so we all go off to check things out (visited babycakes - not sure why all of the WDW blogosphere is bananas over them, they were good but not great vegan cupcakes). i had told his mom that i was looking to get him something and i might need diversionary tactics.

that all happened at the world of disney. i stumbled across that steampunk vinyl mation and proceeded to try and buy it without him knowing. and it comes in this ridiculously large plastic box for display that i was trying to imagine how i could fit it into my purse. after throwing my card and AP at the poor lady working there, i tried to join up with them again, then said i wanted to go check something out, thinking myself very slick. finally the sales lady was done, and i put it in my GIANT purse and stuck my hat over it, leaving me with truly atrocious hat hair. if that ain't love, i do not know what is.

we made our way back to the condo, and crashed. oh, i should add that trace developed the creeping sickness crud, and had to take a z-pack and i made him take a steroid dose pack i had for my neck if it got sore. he started feeling better about sunday, thank goodness!

in any event, trace, miles and the MIL all went to harry potter world on saturday with some other wedding festers. jennifer, my MOH, got into town friday night, and she stopped by for a bit so i could show her all my junk and a head poof i had lovingly hand crafted for her. my step mom got in around 3pm, and we got to visit. also, i organized all the wedding stuff, washed a couple things and tried to organize clothes packing for cruise and checking in at the GF on wedding eve.

I love the gift you got him!! I can't wait to read how he liked it!! I doubt they will since I think they are limited edition, but it would be wonderful if they had them in September when we go. And like yours, my df would have LOVED the star wars vinylmation box as well. But anywho, Great choice on your gift! :thumbsup2

all i knew about sunday was that there was some kind of shenanigans going on where i had to meet jennifer at around 9. now i figured it was some bridal type event, like she and i were going to eat breakfast or get our nails done. well, it was still quite chilly that day (and PS - i was probably at this point checking the weather in lake buena vista AND nassau about every 10 minutes. don't judge, you will too), but nice and sunny. so pete hauls all of us to the poly. and then he dissapears for a bit, and then says "cmon" - i can't now remember if jennifer came out at this point or not - i think not. so we go into the poly and go upstairs. there at ohanas are waiting all the female guests (pert near!) for the wedding! it was a BIG surprise bridal shower!
IMG_1126.jpg
(forgive the terrible picture quality)
we had quite the smashing breakfast (mmmmm carbs) with lilo and stitch AND presents! jennifer and her mom really went all out - her mom lives in hawaii several months out of the year and came in the night before. she brought me a beautiful fresh lei, as well as a keepsake one. also really pretty plumeria earrings in silver with a (assuming not a diamond! :scared1:) crystal gem on each FOR ALL OF US! and mints with our name and date on them, little shell votives and the poly leis some CMs gave jennifer to decorate with! it was very cool!!!! i was really surprised and humbled as well.
here is me with an embarrasing amount of those cool dooney and bourke sketch bags - TWO!
IMG_1145.jpg

and of course, the elusive "just married" button, which, upon receiving, i screamed 'OMG WHERE DID YOU GET THESE?!?!"
IMG_1141.jpg

apparently, she just asked the concierge desK at the poly and they just handed 2 over LIKE IT WAS NOTHING!!!! :worship:

after a great breakfast, i was punished by being forced to see captain eo at EPCOT. we were there until illuminations, which many of you may not know invloves fireworks IN THE LAKE! that became the catch phrase of the weekend, after an exuberant CM described it that way at the end of the american edventure! the same CM also spied mine and trace's elaborate wedding themed accessories, and gave us a magical moment involving a phone call from minnie and mickey and a certificate for a happy honeymoon memory! he was very sweet and we appreciated his efforts!

after enjoying the fireworks IN THE LAKE, we were freezing and headed back home to weddingfest HQ.

on monday, wedding eve, the plans were to attend rehearsal at 9, bring all the wedding stuff to francks, meet our new planner, lisa (great name), in person, check me into the GF and hit MK. we had a no host "linner" scheduled for whomever wanted to come at the crystal palace at 330pm.

the morning was still cool-ish, but sunny and lovely. all day i kept saying "please please please just let it be like this until just noon tomorrow!!". it was really pretty out. we made our way to the WP.let me just say, that i wasn't prepared for the reaction i had - i was really overwhelmed! we hadn't actually been in it before (due to the rehab), so it was pretty wild! we had some time to walk around and check things out, before the rehearsal part started.
P1240012.jpg

we also met rev. miller in person for the first time. he's very charming and did a good job of showing us what to do and tell us how he would help us out or make sure everything went smooth. we ran through it once, got questions answered. i showed lisa all the bits and pieces we brought, and what was for what. we were then turned loose on the MK.

let me just say that it was insanely busy! of course, we weren't there from rope drop and it was unfortunately an extra magic hour day, so apparently everyone in florida and half of brazil was there. it was annoyingly busy! we went on POTC and HM. i think jungle cruise and country bears. i realized later that i never made it even near fantasy land or tomorrow land! after we did the few rides we had, it was almost 3, so we headed up to crystal palace to check in and started meeting up with folks.

it was cool to have our own little weddingfest crew gathering! we ended up with 20, i believe, and the CMs there were so amazing and accommodating - really nice, sat us all together - even had some mickey cofetti shaped into hearts on our tables! we all had a great meal, and get this - the CMs said they felt sorry for trace because he had no hat (i had the bride ears on, and he didn't want to wear the mickey top hat ears all day and neither of us like the annoying new ones), so they went and made this for him!
IMG_1153.jpg

that was pretty cool!
IMG_1150.jpg

i had benn feeling increasingly overwhelmed by all the goings on and rushing around, that i had already decided i was going to go check into the GF (our room wasn't going to be ready until 3, no magic concierge met us so i figured we didn't score an upgrade!:snooty:) and just keep to myself that night. i felt badly too, because i was telling jennifer that she should stay the night and we will have a slumber party, but i was starting to feel freaked out and needed to chill (not that she wouldn't have). she was uber gracious and telling me to do what i needed and that was her only job. i really appreciated that!

so my stepmom, my brother and i trooped back to the GF, we picked up the rest of the tuxedos at the desk for my step mom to take back to the condo, and i joined the bellman for a ride around the grounds to our room. this guy was awesome - i don't have my notebook right next to me so i don't think i'm remembering his name correctly (david? but i think david was someone else), but i am positive he showed me to my room the only other time i stayed there, 4 years ago. he hauled all our stuff up and showed me to the room.

i will admit, i was a bit dissapointed. the room was ok, it was a typical GF room (i feel it is a highly overrated deluxe resort), had a not great view of the pool and and, most annoyingly, 2 double beds. and the room was tiny - which most of them are. now, i felt stupid because i am pretty sure i did request a king sixed bed when i made the reservation - and they must have known it was our wedding/honeymon because we attached it to every reservation note - but i didn't sk for that again when we checked in. i did express that shoot, i wish we just had one bed - heck, even one double or queen would be fine, but its just so "throw your suitcase on the other bed", mess inviting when you have 2 beds for 2 people like that. i just was hopng for a prettier room. so CM makes a call down tp the main desk, explaining he can see if there is something with a single bed, but there weren't too many of those rooms to start with. meanwhile, im texting and emailing about 47 people with my room number and its almost 5pm.

this went on about 10 minutes. then he says, i think we have another room, so i will take you there. we go back to the front to get keys and i am handed these:
IMG_1158.jpg

yes, we were upgraded to the infamous concierge level! well, this caused several things to happen - i bacame giddy and was trying to thank the CM profusely, all while texting all the people who had to come to the room - you see, althought the upgrade was quite an amazing surprise, i did not know that you have to have a room key to come up the elevators. so essentially, i would have to let people in, like go down the stairs and let them in. so, i'm emailing and texting madly, trace is flipping out in the parks that we have this concierge room, and i'm trying to unpack and become mellow.

our room was in the main lobby building. the funny thing about this was that i remember celine dion singing in that lobby for one of the xmas specials. i announced a million times and said on the our podcast that i think all those rooms on those balconies were fake! like i thought they were just facades of spaces, like the upper stories of the buildings on main street. well, i was oh-so-wrong! the layout is complicated though, we were on the 2nd floor, and you had to go basically up one elevator to the 3rd or 4th floor, then walk to the other end of the hall and go down to 2. so i tried to run the gauntlet a couple times to make sure i knew where i was going. everyone but the carolyn allen's folks confirmed the second room change (and essentially gave me a texted "woot! concierge!"). i ran by concierge once, and there weresnacksand wine - of course i grabbed a glass of chanpagne and thought i would come right back and grab a smeall plate, but of course i missed the boat on that one!

i settled into the room, and could hear the strains of the MSEP, Wishes and that knew castle show, although i couldn't tell what the heck was going on!

at about 945 i decided i was too hungry to sleep and ordered myself up a cheese plate (that was yummy!) and another glass of wine..... then i tried to sleep....
view from the room -

i think someone was having some kind of DP, but noone looked dressed up, because they were playing wishes outside my room

now THATS what i'm talking about!
