We just saw the Lion King off broadway Musical. WOW!!! absolutely stunning!!!!! If anyone has the chance to see it, definitely try to go.. We saw it in Norfolk VA, and it was in Baltimore MD last summer. Of course seeing something Disney made me all the more anxious for DCL cruise #2 in November.

we have tickets for opening night in houston this summer for the Lion King and then again later in the month for a friend's b-day. :earboy2:

I don't know if/when i'ts coming to our area. But is it something the kids would enjoy?

I saw it in Brimingham in October. It was amazing!!! I would pay double the price to see it again. It was great.

absolutely!!! we took DS9 and DD14, both loved it. my mom took my neice who is 6- she loved it. To see if it is coming to your area, you can do a search on a site for ticketmaster, or through your local arena. But be sure to get tickets when they first come out especially if you want a certain night. Definitely worth researching!!! Pricey, but worth it.

We took our kids who were 7 and 4 at the time and they were mesmerized. I would go see it again if I had a chance!

We saw it in Baltimore last June. Both of my kids had seen it beofre on school trips to NYC. It is wonderful. Good for all ages.

Love.. love.. LOVE.. Lion King!! I always cry atthe opening number

We have seen it 3 times in Toronto and this August we are seeing it in London, England :cool1:

Absolutely - as previously stated. We took our boys to opening night in Baltimore. It was wonderful. They thought it was cool. That was in June & they are still talking about it.

I got tickets for dd17 and me (Christmas present) for the show in Phoenix this summer. The show is August and September. Long time to wait!

Taking the whole family in July when it comes to Philadelphia. 1st timers! :cool1:

I guess I am the only person that didn't care for it much. I loved the parade they used to have at Disneyland so I thought I would like the show. I saw it in NY and was glad when it ended. My kids didn't seem to love it either. They did sit through it quietly but it just was not one of the highlights of the trip like I thought it would be. To be fair I don't really care for any sort of theater so that could have something to do with it. For instance you couldn't pay me to see O or Mystere or anything like that in Vegas.

Lion King is opening in East Lansing, MI at MIchigan State University tonight. Lots of hype for months now. The show will run until March. We have tickets and can't wait to see it again.

Friday night DBF surprised me (for a late Christmas present) with tickets to the Lion King!!! (It was for that night- the 13th) I didn't even check the seats and I was so excited. Then I checked the seats... HOLY COW, I couldn't believe how good they were.

He had ordered some on ticketmaster and the site had said "center section" when really we were in the right section all the way in the back on the orchestra level. He complained to ticketmaster... they said to talk to Chrysler Hall, CH said it was ticketmaster's fault. So he emailed the vice president of Chrysler Hall about how he has been a part of the Chesapeake/Norfolk community for 15 years and now is a member of the EVMS community and he was just incredibly disappointed with the way they handled it and how the description was wrong.

The next day Chrysler Hall called him back with new tickets to pick up and an apology. Not only did they change it from Sunday (the last day it was playing) to Friday (had been sold out for months for that night), but we were 9th row on the Orchestra level - the EXACT center of the theater. Most amazing seats ever for the most amazing show ever!! Both of us absolutely loved it. And it included one of my favorite songs- "He Lives in You" from the Rhythm of the Pridelands CD.

I took my nieces 14 and 9 and my nephews 6 and 4. The 14, 9, and 6 year old didn't move through the whole thing. The 4 year old was a different story. He stood through it all singing (not loudly) with each song and dancing. There was 22 of us total in our group. The older one's enjoyed it as much as the younger ones. They still talk about going.

I saw it out here a few years ago and I loved it. It definately was one of my top productions Ive ever seen. I hope I get a chance to see it again.

I'm glad to hear all of the great reviews. We have tickets for an April show in San Antonio. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :bitelip: :wave2:

We saw it in Norfolk too - amazing show. It was scaled down a bit from the Broadway show - smaller theater, I think.

There was an article in the paper this week that out of some 98 thousand tickets availalbe, only 851 went unsold. This was an incredible financial success for Norfolk - 5 weeks, nearly soldout every night - city tax revenue, hotels, parking garages, restaurants all benefitted. And they said they had not heard anything negative about the show. Really great for the city!

If LK comes to your town, and your kids haven't seen it, absolutely take them!
