I know that the original has some scary parts, hyenas, death of Mufasa, fight with Scar, etc. that my DDs would be very afraid of. Does this movie have these scenes or is it more light hearted? I know it is more of a comedy, but I wonder if there are still scary parts. My DDs love the characters, but I do not want to deal with nightmares right know. DD1 used to be chased every night by Shere Kahn after watching Jungle Book :(

I would consider this film much more light hearted. There are some confrontations with the hyenas, but nothing that would compare to the first film.

It is comedy through and through....

My almost 20 month old watched it and she laughed a lot. I'm sure she didn't know what she was laughing at, but she laughs whenever I do. It is a fun, light-hearted film.

Much more light-hearted. I don't have kids yet so take that into account, but personally I would have no problem showing this one to young kids. :)
