Linking reservations for different views

Here's the deal, we booked 6 nights in an AKV-Jamboree savanna view studio in November. A few weeks back, we added three nights to the start of the trip in a standard view studio.

Is there any reason why I should link the reservations? I know people link their reservations when they have separate reservations but all in the same view.

No, they can't be linked because you have to change rooms.

They can't be linked since the room categories are not exactly the same.

Thanks for the quick responses. It's what I expected, but I just wanted to be sure.

You may want to consider the DDP during either of your reservations. You don't have to have it for both.

There are times when a member ends up with two separate but contiguous reservations for the same resort and room type and view. For example, if you book part of your stay but have to waitlist for the rest of it (for the same resort and room type and view) when the waitlist fills, they create a separate reservation with a new reservation number for those nights. In order to avoid having the member assigned to two different rooms during that stay, MS links the two reservations so that the member is assigned to the same room for the entire trip.

In your case you have a split stay and are moving to a different room view so linking does not apply to your situation.

I'm curious, Bill. What is your thinking here?
Not Bill but -

I think Bill was just pointing out that since the OP had a true split stay, she would be allowed to add a dining plan to only one of the segments. Sometimes the Deluxe version of the dining plan especially makes economic sense for a short stay.

For example, for a 2 night stay, you would get 6 TS credits per person for the 2 nights. You could dine at a signature for 3 consecutive days, or a signature for 2 evenings plus a TS lunch or breakfast on those same 2 days. Plus the Deluxe plan means all TS meals (even at the 1 credit places) come with an appetizer in addition to the entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage.

With previous similar plans (FnF and it's followers), Disney considered any continuous stay at a given resort as one stay for requirement purposes, I wonder if they will go back to that requirement at any time.
