Linking magic band - UK

Hey all,

Last time I was in florida, I bought a magic band for myself and partner from Disney springs. We haven't booked yet but looking at visiting WDW again next year.

When we go to book dining reservations and fastpasses, is it easier already having these fastpasses linked up to my Disney account or does it not matter if I link if say a week before I go?

As I'm from the uk, I would need to usually pick up my MB from the front desk when checking in so won't have one sent out to me thus why I bought some last time we went.

I just didn't know if anyone had come across any issues adding in a band once you already have reservations/FP booked?

Also as I'm only missing a couple to have all the MB colours, do you know if I was to add the band I currently have a couple days before i went, whether they'd still give me the one i "customised" on my Disney experience as they will have already been sent to the hotel or will they not give it to mr as they'll see i already have one linked to my account?

Every onsite resort guest receives the option to customize a new MB whether or not they already have other linked MBs.

MBs link to your MDX Profiles. FPs link to your MDX Profiles. Link your MBs to your MDX account prior to your trip.

It doesn’t matter if you link your MB now or when you get on the plane. All it does is get linked to your account - it doesn’t do anything.

Every onsite guest receives a new MB. If you will be staying onsite they will hand you the MB you customized.

No, no issues. All the band does is act as a key to access your MDE account.

Think of your MDE as your email like Gmail or Yahoo. You can access your email from any computer. When you buy a new computer you now have a 2nd device that accesses the email. MagicBands work the same way. They are just the device accessing the information stored in the account. You can have multiple MBs linked in your account. If you go into the MDE website on your computer you can activate and deactivate bands.

You can add a band at any time no problem.
You must have tickets linked to your account in order to book fastpasses.

If you had the old bands linked to your MDE account, they'll still be linked unless you deliberately unlinked it. No need to do anything. Any new ones you receive due to staying onsite will already be linked when you arrive even though you don't get them until you arrive. This is because MBs are linked to your account, not to a specific trip, resort stay or ticket. Resort reservations, ADRs, fastpasses, and tickets are linked to your account. So any MB can access all of these.

I have 4-5 linked now and two more trips scheduled over the next few months. I've already made ADRs for both and fastpasses for the first one. I can use any of my old MBs without doing anything. We have to pick ours up at registration too but I use an old one to scan for DME (not necessary since I get a "ticket" for that but it's more convenient to scan an MB) plus I use old ones in different colours to coordinate with my outfit for the day. I usually bring 1-2 with me to have in addition to the one I get when I check in.
