Linking Magic Band for Family Member w/o MDE

I have an upcoming trip and my mom is coming with us. She can't do technology at all, so currently I have her set up on my MDE as a family member for who I control all plans for. I have a Magic Band for her at home from a previous trip. Is there any way to link it to her if she doesn't have her own MDE account?

If you mean a spare MB she never has used, no, you can't re-assign a MB to another person.

A MB she used on a prior trip with you only requires your checking MDE to see that it's still showing active. If it is, you're all set. If more than a couple years old, it may not pick up in-ride videos or photos but will do everything else--park entry, door unlock, room charge, etc.

Otherwise, unless she prefers a MB, you can ask for a good ol'fashioned KTTW (Key To The World) card upon arriving at your resort. Those are still free for the asking.

Yes, I had used it previously. It was a plain band which is what she would've preferred. Guess we'll have to get something from the current available choices.

There have been reports of Guest Services occasionally being able to reassign a MB once you're at Disney but, not many. You may wish to purchase one now, wait and see if GS can help you or, have her used a KTTW card if she does not need a MB.

The solid color MBs are still sold at most resort gift shops. May not be a wide choice of colors.
