Linking DVC and non DVC reservation

I searched but couldn't find the exact answer - we're staying at AKV for 4 nights and then i'm going to pay cash for the last 2 nights to stay at the POLY.

We aren't doing tickets or the dining plan but I was wondering if I need to make a separate reservation for the Poly and/or link the two together? Mostly, i'd like to link them together to get the 180+10 but not sure if this is allowed.

You won't be able to link those. Two different resorts, two different bookings (one MS and DRC). You can't book the Polynesian through MS unless you do it on points.
