Linking DVC account with MDE

New DVC member, just set up my account this week and booked my first trip. When I set up my account, MS told me to use same login and password as MDE. Do the 2 accounts link to one automatically? I had to manually enter all the guests names on the reservation and the reservation is not showing up on MDE (it's showing on the DVC site) Do I need to call tech support or can I do it myself?

Yesterday mine did not. We booked quick trip to see GMR and Energy once more. I had to type in the SSR reservation number for it to show up on MDE.

When I make my reservations through the phone it links. When I make them online I have to link them reservation myself

You can do it yourself.

My entitlements are connected to me and MDE but it's rare that my DVC reservations link automatically (used to sometimes in the past but I'm thinking they haven't in the past couple of years). IMO that's why they have the "link reservations" ability. Easy to do and takes under a minute.

Mine linked-eventually. I had to call MS back, because it turned out that I'd forgotten to list myself on the hotel reservation, but DH was on it. However, logging into DME is apparently ONE person -specific, and so it wouldn't let me see anything. Once I was added to the hotel reservation-voila! We're all set!

You mean when you're making the reservation online? Entering guests is always manual.

When you go to link that reservation to MDE though it should match up to friends and family if they exist or ask you if it has a question of who's who.

I've never had a DVC reservation link up by itself either. I'm also not the person whose magicband lights up purple (even though my MDE has my DVC affiliation and I do ALL the planning) but my hub's does.
