Linking APs to Existing Reservations in MDE for FP+

I apologize if asking a question already answered, but I have searched boards and can't find a definitive answer on this situation. Disclaimer: we have owned DVC for several years, but due to our previous vacation patterns, have never purchased APs.

We have two vacations booked on DVC points scheduled for this calendar year, and the FP+ booking window opens up later this week on the first trip. Since we need to have tickets tied to MDE for us to book FP+, I began the process to purchase APs. When I move through the purchasing process online, it gives me the option to pick up at will call or to ship to our home address.

Will the APs automatically be linked to our existing reservations, since the system prompted me to assign the APs to members of our family? If so, what is going to be shipped to us, and what else will we need to do?

Tickets/passes are not linked to reservations, they are linked to individual profiles in MDE.

As for the shipping options other than will call, they would mail and exchange certificate (aka voucher) to you. The exchange certificate is a plastic card that you would take to a park ticket window or guest relations window to exchange for the actual passes.

For will call, you just have the confirmation number that you use when you exchange for the actual passes.

You should get a confirmation number. You can then link it to your profiles in MDE.

You may have to show ID when you get to the part for DVC Member verification.

Once linked in MDE, you can make FP reservations at the 60 day window.

I have not gotten anything shipped. I do will call (which gives me the confirmation number) then I like it in MDE and its off to the races

The confirmation number should be the first three letters of your last name, plus the last letter of your last name, and then numbers. You should be able to link it within minutes.

Thanks for the responses! I purchased them, selected the shipping option, but still got a confirmation number in the email with which I was able to link the APs to my family members. Yay!
