Linking a rental and another reservation?

I intend to use all of my points to book a 2 bedroom for Jan at Aulani. However, I need an additional 3 nights beyond what I can book with my current points available. I have had the thought to rent the points for the additional 3 nights as I can't transfer or borrow points. Can I ask the rental owner and/or member services to show the two reservations as a continuation and thus avoid having to move rooms? Thanks!

Yes. That's the best chance to avoid moving between reservations.

Give the rental owner your reservation number and ask him/her to add that along with the note re the continuing reservation. Then when you have the rental confirmation number, you do the same for the reservation you made. You may still have to go to the front desk to check out and back in again between reservations, but chances are very good that you will be able to stay in the same room. I'd confirm with front desk when you check in for the first portion of your stay.
