Linking a purchased MagicBand before a trip

Hello! I am planning my niece's honeymoon trip. I bought them each an Avengers MagicBand that I would like to setup for them before they get there in October. Is there a way I can load the MagicBands into MDE so they won't need to order the plain free bands? Right now the only option I see for them is to order the MBs for shipment. I don't see anywhere to enter the code from the back of the bands I purchased. Thanks so much!

Log into MDE and under the dropdown menu, click on the "MagicBands and Cards" option. There will be an option to link a new MB. You'll input the ID number on the back of the MB and assign it to whomever that band will belong to.

This, however, won't override the free MB option. They'll need to decline those bands and the only way to do so at the moment, I believe, is during online check-in. If no MBs are selected, they'll be given the standard grey at check-in.

AFAIK, they stopped handing out "only" the "standard grey" colored MBs a long time ago.
I think they have different colors of MBs available at the front desks at all the resorts.
Likewise, multiple color choices of MBs at the various Guest Relations locations.

And no reason for them not to order the other Magic Bands as well. You can have multiple MBs. My girls mix and match with outfits.

I didn't know that!

For our trip last June, I had declined MB prior to the update and the BLT front desk staff gave me a box of four grey MB at check-in. It's good to know there are other color options available.

We have a trip next month and she has 6 Magic Bands, I activate our MB's each morning, just part of our routine. You can activate and deactivate individual MB's on your MDE in just a few seconds once linked..

Just pointing out to those reading along that there is no need to do that.
If you just WANT to do so, that's fine.
OTOH, if you just want to leave any MBs you own sitting "activated" in your account, that's fine, too.

If you customize MagicBands for either a Disney Resort stay or an Annual Pass purchase, they are automatically linked to MDE when they are shipped out.

If purchased from ShopDisney.com (formerly DisneyStore.com) or any physical location that sells them, you must link them yourself using MDE.
