NO MY TRIP ISN"T CANCELED!! :scared:

I am curious, though. What happens if you have a room reservation, set up MDE, purchased tickets from an outside vendor (like UT), linked your tickets to your account, and then you have to cancel your trip? Are your tickets voided? Do they just sit in your MDE account, in limbo, until you plan another trip? If you were to stay offsite in the future and just "wing it" at WDW (i.e., no ADRs, no FP+, no need for MDE), could you just take the paper ticket from UT to the park and have it be valid?

When the reservation is canceled, the link to the tickets goes away with the reservation and the tickets are as if they were never linked. You do not lose any of the original benefit of the ticket and it is considered a new ticket (unused). If you make a new reservation, you would need to manually link them to the new reservation.

Yes, if staying offsite you can just bring the ticket with you. You would most likely get a card or MB when you first use the ticket as you need the new card with the chip to make FP+ ressies while there. They do not use paper tickets anymore. At least that is what I was told. Not sure if you NEED to get the ticket exchanged to a card, but you would have no access to FP+ unless you did. That is my understanding.

Your separately purchase park admission is linked to your MDE profile. If you cancel the room, NOTHING happens to the park admission and it remains linked to your MDE profile.

Guess I am not the only one who is unclear about this situation!

I really don't like all this linking and magic band stuff. I wish I could just have my ticket, that I paid for, in my hand and valid all the time. At least then, I know what I had and where it was/is.

If you purchase from a reseller like UT, you will receive the actual MYW ticket. Even if you link that ticket to MDE, the actual RFID card you receive can still be used for park entry. That RFID card will also work for FP+ entry.
