Lining up for Black Friday.

How they handle the big ticket items seems to vary from store to store. Ours doesn't do tickets and the stampede back to electronics makes the Toy Story stampede at Studios look like a Sunday stroll. I'm actually heading over today to get DD her iPod instead of braving Black Friday there... Between this week's sale ($189 for the 8gig), the 10% off coupon, and the $20 gift card offer it comes out the same as Black Friday without the crazies.

where is the 10% coupon?

Is anyone planning on going to the idiotic 10 pm and midnight hanksgiving openings the stores are having for black friday? I hope alot of people dont show up for their silly unnecessary openings..its just going to get worse if people support their sales.seriously.nothing is that cheap and importnat to make employyees of these stores have to be to work on Thanksgiving and into the wee hours..minimum wage employyes i maight add.i
I did Black Friday once- not worth it. My mom is a smart shopper and bargain hunter and she calls Black Friday "amateur day", lol. So while the sheep are knocking each other down and getting into fistfights and stampedes, I'll be sleeping late and then enjoying some leftovers. My shopping is done.

how do you know there's a 20$ gift card? it doesnt say anything on the website.

I think we missed it. :headache: I believe it was advertised in last week's ad. I don't see anything mentioned for this week until Friday. I didn't get a chance to look through ads last week, so I missed out. I'm trying to decide how crazy I want to get trying to get one at midnight Friday.

You apply for a Target debit card, attached to your checking account, at the register. It takes just a few minutes, you activate usage/PIN right there, and they give you a receipt to use until the card comes. It's valid only at Target stores and online - and you get an automatic 5% discount when you use it to pay!

And the cashier gets an incentive bonus.

You get free shipping from Target.com. Just learned that one. Very handy. :thumbsup2

I wouldn't call them "amateurs", some people just go for the hunt.

I do MOST of my BF shopping via internet, if it's not available from WM there, I don't get it.

Then I go out to Target, Big Lots and Walgreens, where people just walk around like humans buying stuff.

I've done "BF" for almost 40 years and have NEVER seen a stampede, a fistfight or pandemonium, you just have to know how to do it. :thumbsup2
