Lines in late afternoon/evening

Lots of people (and the Unofficial Guide) recommend an early start, a midday break and then a 5/5.30pm return during Summer.

This strategy seems worth pursuing, but are the lines for popular attractions short/er after 5pm/5.30?

Yeah, the popular ride lines get shorter. Actually its more like 6 or 7 when the lines get lower. But it does happen
