Line holders

here now. I'm not sure why people think it's okay to go up to "be with their group" in lines. Character lines, maybe. Lines like Soarin, not okay! Move back! Making the line longer and taking up seats. I don't care who you're trying to go sit with, you're still cutting the line.

It infuriates me as a single rider.

The line for them starts when they got in the line. Any other "large" amusement park does not tolerate it. Not saying Disney does or doesn't, but I get pushed back quite a few spots because people are going to go with their group.

I have been known to just say "NO" when they try to push by me. I once held up about 10 people, who all made loud nasty comments which I ignored LOL! I just told them I was sure their friends would wait at boarding for them.

And the truth. Some of these rude people don't have anyone waiting on them. They just are breaking line. I once saw a kid do this a Kali River Rapids. He zips by once to find his family. A little later here he comes again and he's wet.. hmmm.... a few minutes later he shows up a THIRD time, soaked to the skin! I called his bluff and told him no. Every time he tried to sneak by I blocked him (helped by the people around me who also realized "wait he's done this three times") When I got off the ride I saw the couple in front of me giving this kids mom a piece of their mind LOL!

A mom and a kid who had to go to the bathroom is one thing. Anything is just rude!

We had this happen to us in line for Soarin'. If it were a family in front of us, and mom and kid ran to the bathroom and caught up in line, OK.

But 45 minutes into our hour long wait and a group of guys just pushes their way through to their group of friends (who happened to be right in front of us). I know it doesn't add an hour to our wait time, but it annoys me because as adults, you should know better.

I agree. Small children who need the bathroom, that's fine! But a bunch of people who don't speak English and use that as their excuse because they don't understand what you're saying... No no no. Stand in line like everyone else. I did stop someone and they just kept walking/ran!

Line holders don't bother me at all...I guess I just feel like someone was in line from the group... well done.
So you're ok with the single person in front of you suddenly being joined by 20 of their closest friends after you waited for an hour and those 20 friends walk up to the front of the line after they enjoyed that hour on other rides, having snacks, etc?

Does that really happen?? Does one person stand in line and 20 other people come an join them? I have been both solo trips and with my family and I have never seen this. So sure in that case I might get annoyed. But I have only really seen a mom or dad holding a line and the kids join up as they get close. I just don't see it happen much so perhaps that is why is doesn't bother me much.

I have been here since Friday. And it has happened to me a lot. Not 20 people but easily 10 pushing their way past.

This is the fourth time today it's happened in the Soarin line and I've only been here an hour.

Controversial subject for sure. Been here for almost two weeks now and have had very few of this type situation. Sure, had a few where they were already in line and left with a child to go to the bathroom, or maybe one parent and one kid came in after we did to join their family. We've had to do it ourselves. No problem. But we really haven't encountered many very large groups trying to push past. They wouldn't get past us anyway. My wife and I will (and have) stand side by side and take up the queue width.

I cut through the line at Soarin once. My husband uses a scooter because he can't walk the miles required at Disney. He parked it on the upper level of the land and we walked down and got in line.

We were 3/4 of the way through the line when he realized he left his I phone on the seat of the scooter. I walked quickly back through the line, up the stairs and around to the front of the building. Luckily the CM saw the phone and folded the seat down on it so it was not visible.

When I got back down to the attraction I explained what happened to the CM and asked to go through the FP lane and wait for my husband where the lines merged. The CM said no. So I excused myself through the entire line (and we all know how the line magically doubled since I originally left) and I eventually caught up with my husband who was just about at the point where the stand-by line merges with the fast pass line.

Lucky for me, everyone was very gracious and no one gave me a hard time.

Have to agree with you this drives me nuts!! And in the end it really does add to the wait time if you consider how many people have done it once you got in line. On our last trip it was anywhere from 1-4 people that we seen doing it; never big groups. I can't understand the single adult that is pushing their way thru saying just trying to catch up to my family. Um, what were you doing when your family got in line that you couldn't get in line with them or just not ride the ride.
I realize "emergencies" happen when you get in lines with kids but we've never allowed our kids to get back out of line to go to the bathroom and still ride. It's just a rule in our family..You take care of business before you get in line or you skip.

They ignore you.
Well you could say it over and over, louder and louder to try to incite the crowd. Try to group shame them into correct behavior. I think that's about all you can do since CMs typically don't get involved with line jumpers. Perhaps if everyone began email bombing Disney on this topic, posting on their Disney Blog and Facebook pages we could group shame Disney into taking the same position on this issue as every other theme park in the world " 'NO LINE JUMPING" as an official policy.
