If you are there at opening, I don't see a need for this at all. Actually, since dumbo is slow-loading, your DH and DS will be long done with Pooh before you are off dumbo. Especially if you don't make it on to the first ride and have to wait. Pooh is pretty much a walk-on at opening. I know because we usually do Dumbo, then pooh.
On line jumping...
If it is a family and it won't mess up who sits with who and doesn't take an extra seat, who cares? If people get in line at the beginning or step in, it doesn't matter when they get in line, since it doesn't change what happens to me.
Example:
1.family of four getting in line. I am behind them.
2.one person gets in line and three later join them. I am behind them.
The result is that I am in the same place.
There can be no other outcome, since in both my scenarios everyone fully intended to ride from the beginning.
If someone is standing in line and some who did not intend to ride now decide to ride and join the one in line, this is clearly cutting.
