Line Bumpers

We just got back today from DLP but I had an experience that I was wondering if anyone else had encountered. We were in the BTM line and there was this mom and kid that kept bumping into us in line. It is like they had to be right next to us or somehow they would never move forward. She bumped us, her bag bumped us, the kid tried the sidle up the fence. I am not sure what language she spoke but I don't think it was French or English. I asked her a couple of time not to touch us and used my hands to indicate to keep back, but still she didn't get it. You think that you would figure out just to stay away from an annoyed foreigner even if you didn't know what they were talking about! Any other ideas on how to handle this?

ah thats happened to us before, I even had a child (around 12/13) try to push me out of my space watching the parade, and then he wrapped his leg around mine and tried to trip me! he fell over because of it though XP then he left his space so it serves him right really. and the stupid bit was, we were side by side and he was taller than me! I wasnt obstructing his view!

But yeah its annoying when that happens

Different cultures have different expectations of personal space.
We have encountered this at DLP, WDW and other holiday destinations

In most instances a polite smile and gestures indicating that I don't need my dimples counted have worked

i usually develop extremely sharp elbows and big feet.... it is annoying, but, u do get it everywhere..

OMG yes, my fiance and I have been several times and have encountered this every time. It's definitely a cultural thing. We just put up with it, but I always try not to move forward immediately with the line when there's space in front of me to try and wind them up LOL. Since others have noticed it too though, I might not be so careful about standing on feet next time!
