Lindsay Lohan in AA?

So I heard on the news the other day that Lindsay Lohan is in AA. Now, she is 20 years old which of course is under age. Here is my quam...all those clubs/bars that she gets photographed at drinking, how come they all don't have their liquor licenses revoked? They are making a big deal about how she is in AA (don't get me wrong, she shouldn't be drinking at ALL). But how do these clubs/bars get away with it? Do they at least get some kind of stiff fine for serving to minors? Does anyone know?

This is what I don't like about the world today. How they cater to the rich and famous just so they can say "hey, Lindsay Lohan comes here to party." So what?!

I've seen tons of pictures of Lindsey Lohan in bars, but she's always holding a bottle of water. I'm sure she's drinking, but the only photos I've seen of her with booze bottles are ones that have obviously been taken in a private setting, not a club.

I don't know where this was taken but it looks like an outdoor patio-type restaurant. You can see the register behind her. Not to say that this picture wasn't photoshopped or anything, who knows.

I might be wrong, but in many cases these underage "stars" are actually going to private places that are actually considered restaurants that happen to serve alcohol, not bars.

Not that is doesn't make it illegal, but I do think it helps with how they get into the place as an underage customer.

I feel sorry for her. One of our favorite family movies is The Parent Trap starring Lindsay. I look at this little child star in the movie and then look at the fast track she's on now and it really bothers me. Child stars and Hollywood just don't mix. I hope that she gets the help from AA that she needs.

I 100% agree. She does a lot of movies for Disney and I'd hate to see her lose out on those opportunities because of her lifestyle. Maybe getting into AA this early will help her. IMHO, she needs to ditch Paris as BFF. She seems to be a partial bad influence.

It certainly does seem that way. It's like a recipe for disaster if they don't have some restraint and supervision.

My current favorite child star is Dakota Fanning. I hope she can stay on the straight and narrow as she grows and matures.

Yeah, but I assume the whole world doesn't recognize your face, and tabloids don't try to snap pictures of you everywhere you go! It IS different for "them".

It's possible I'm the only one that is glad she might be making a break fromt he Disney type movies. She seems to have more talent than most of the people Disney keeps around to put in their poorly written live action fluff.

I'm all for personal responsibility and living with the choices one makes. However, the Hollywood pressure cooker is an environment that is difficult for some adult stars to cope with, not to mention a child that grew up living in it every day. Teens in general don't always have their head screwed on straight, so I can't imagine going through one's teen years in that crazy environment and knowing all the right choices to make while still trying to keep the plates spinning on their career. Now that she's on the other side of those teen years, hopefully steps she's taking now (AA) is the adult in her coming out and trying to correct some of those poor choices. I think stars get so brainwashed by their agents and promoters that they can't see and think clearly at times - especially a teen.

I never wanted this to be a "I hate Lindsay Lohan" thread. I wanted to know what people thought of the places that served her alcohol knowing that she was underage and if there were any consequences to them in doing so.

I remember looking at pictures of a 10 year old stoned Drew Barrymore wondering the same thing.

Very sad that no one is protecting the ones that need protection most.

Everyone is focusing on the rich and famous, but what about all those kids who live among us who have alcohol problems. Money and fame has nothing to do with it. Addiction happens at all ages and economic levels. I have and am living through this with both of my underage sons. They did not get alcohol in our house as we do not have it in our home. They got it from other parents with the attitude that they are going to drink anyway so this way I can keep an eye on them. They got it from adults willing to buy it for them. They got it by stealing it. Bottom line, if they want it they will get it. I am grateful both of my boys are now in one year residential rehab and doing well. It is easy for those with no experience to judge and it is a battle everyday for those living through it. At least she is seeking help.

2 big LA bars HAVE been shut down...the biggest one being Teddy's at the Roosevelt.

I just feel sorry for the girl she obviously has serious issues. Her father is in jail and her mother is worse than Jade Barrymore was. I've seen photos of Lindsay and Dina arm and arm and in Lindsay's other hand is a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Lohan and Paris Hilton hate eachother....so I seriously doubt that Hilton has anything to do with Lindsay's current state.

I agree that she has talent - she's shown that at an early age. Its hard enough to grow up as a teen with all the pressures and influences of living in today's world, not to mention growing up in the Hollywood pressure cooker environment. Its no place for a child to grow up and come out of it with common sense and their wits about them. Its a shame, really.
