Hi,
Sorry, I know that there is a ton of information on this topic already but I was hoping that I can ask about my situation anyway.

We are flying in to Orlando, staying at the Polynesian for 3 days, then going to Port Canaveral on the morning of the 4th day so that we can visit the Kennedy Space Centre. We will sleep over at a hotel in Port Canaveral and then the next day, we are going on the Disney Magic for the 7 day cruise. What are our best and cheapest options re transportation? There are 4 of us, me, DH, DS (12 yrs old) and DD (10 yrs old). And is there a difference between limo services and towncars?

We have always taken the Disney bus to the cruise and hotel but with the Kennedy Space Centre visit, this makes it a little more convoluted this time.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome! And if this info has already been posted a thousand times already, please forgive me! Thanks!

I think the simpliest (maybe not the cheapest) would be to rent a car.

That way you can do as you would like over on Cape Canaveral.

I know that the car rental places have shuttles to the port. Or if you stay at the Radisson, you can shuttle from the car rental to the Radisson, then Radisson shuttle to the port.

Many different options are available.

As far as prices go... I don't think the Limo is the cheapest option, but it was by far the best. We were four traveling (and not lightly I might add) and Trying to cram all of us into one towncar would have been impossible considering the amount of luggage we had. We filled up the trunk and the front seat next to the driver too. Not to mention we had tons of room in the back + a DVD player if you want to watch a movie (Happy Limo supplied on.. Lilo and Stitch i think). Plus there is the undeniable coolness that comes from being dropped off/picked up in a Limo... I sure got a kick out of it.... all those people waiting for their busses, then our limo driver cruises up, packs our bags and we're off just like that!

DVCanuck Jr - you bring up a good point about the space in a town car vs. a limo. I am struggling with this dilema now. How much luggage will fit in a town car? There will be 4 of us traveling (just cruise and one night at the Raddison). Last time we had two big suitcases, a duffle, and two garmet bags. Is this too much for a town car?

Thanks for your help!

Is the trunk on a limo larger than a towncar? There will be four adults and 4 kids with us. Would one limo be enough?

We are going from the airport to the Raddison, then from the ship to WDW with one of our seven going to the airport first, then three people leaving WDW one day, and three people leaving the next. Florida tours was by far the best price for this craziness, and the gentleman I spoke with was very patient and extremely pleasant. He did say that depending on luggage some parties of four can not fit into a towncar.

Lynda, How are you getting to PC on the 4th day? If you're renting, then I would suggest just keeping it and drive to the Magic. Try and get a rental co with a location near the pier, that way you can do one-way and drop it off before the cruise so that you don't pay for that week while it just sits unused.

UMTerp, sounds like you'd be fine in a towncar with just that luggage.

DVCajun, I don't think trunk space would be any bigger. It'd would be based on the make of the car, so for example a Lincoln Towncar would have the same space as a Lincoln Towncar Limo. It sounds like you're doubling UMTerps, so you might want to look into getting a van. About the same as a limo cost wise, I believe.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for replying! We had thought that we would rent a car to get from WDW to PC. I just wasn't sure if it would be better to take a towncar or limo to PC. But given your advice, I think we'll go with our original thought and make sure that we return the rental car before we embark on the cruise. Thanks again for your help!
