I tried FL Tours but they said they don't have enough room for our suitcases. I looked into another but the same thing. I looked into Happy, They can get all our stuff but I also have read a lot of bad things about them. Is there anything else out there. There are eight of us. Thanks

Do you need a Limo. I don't think there are any out there with a whole lot of luggage capacity. Maybe you need to just take the DME. They will haul all your luggage for free. The way it is have someone ride out to the hotel in the DME and use the limousine for the rest of the guests. You could hire two SUV's for the price you pay for one limousine and have plenty of room for everyone and the luggage.

P.S. An Suv will carry 5 of the big luggage bags and approximatley 3 to 6 of the smaller pieces of luggage. I don't know what you really have. I am speaking about a Chevrolet suburban SUV. That is why I speak so highly of the SUV's. They carry a lot compared to the town car and limousine, and they are a better riding vehicle then either of the above.

We had a group of 6, with the other family having about 6 pieces of luggage for the three of them, one time when we traveled. Total luggage was about 10 pieces. We did use a stretch limo. I would think that would work for you...the luggage could go inside the car, couldn't it? Or a van.

Go with a van. It will hold your party of eight and all of your luggage. I have had eleven people plus luggage with no problem. Don't use FL Tours they charge per person over a certain number of people. I would recommend Tiffany Towncar. I have used them a lot with no problems.

I will check out the other links. We live in a town that is smaller than the resort were we will be staying I'm sure :rotfl2: Anyway the boys want a limo from wdw to the port. Thanks again

:surfweb: Just my two cents worth but, every time I've used Murray Hill we were disappointed. We always pay for round trip towncar and each time we used them they tried to get us to use a van on one leg of the trip. Mostly we got the towncar from the airport but, :sad2: a van shows up at the last min. on the return trip to the airport with an I'm sorry but, the car broke down or we didn't have any cars available.
I know I shoud be glad I had a ride at all but, if I pay for a town car I expect (a towncar) or do I just expect too much???
Okay off my soap box.

A Limousine has the same size trunk as the luxury sedan it was made from, like a Lincoln Towncar, the trunk is not stretched. It is against insurance regulations to put luggage in the passenger area of a limousine.

If that is the case, against insurance regulations to put baggage in passenger compartment, would that give insurance companies a chance to deny coverage in case of an accident? Maybe there is an insurance expert, attorney or insurance adjuster out there who knows the answer to this question. You know how insurance companies are getting so finnicky these days. My company has denied insurance on my home after 10 years coverage and nothing claimed. Due to hurricanes, I guess.

What constitutes 'luggage'? I know that when we had the stretch limo, my family had 3 carryon bags (one apiece) and 3 checked bags. The other family of 3 had a carryon apiece and then about 5-6 bags checked. I know that most of the checked luggage went into a trunk, but we did bring our carryon bags into the limo with us, as well as at least one piece of checked luggage. Just curious.

Edd - Not to bash you here, but it seems only logical the company is requiring this for safety reasons. It shouldn't be a question will they get in trouble for doing it. I guess they will on the back end in court when their families sue them for not using reasonable care especially if it's not a common practice in the industry. I agree it shouldn't be done at all. If an accident occurs it's going to be a lot worse when 25 lb- 50 lb luggage is tossed onto to everyone. I wouldn't want to cram all in with it either and we try to rent vehicles large enough to put our stuff in the truck or back rather than in the seats where people (namely my son) are sitting.

OP - There are companies that offer SUV service and van service. One that I know offers a trailer for an additional $50 to go with the van if luggage gets out of hand. Yes, vans aren't the prettiest things in the world but they will get you there for a reasonable cost. A limo really doesn't have much more trunk space then a towncar. Our driver in 2004 put our extra suitcase in the front with him and there was only 3 of us. Since there are 8 of you I don't think you're going to fit into one limo. I agree with Edd - an suv or van service might be a better mode of transportation. Is there any reason you are opposed to using Magical Express? Are you going to port and not WDW?

Edd - I have to ask what you think about the two men on that taxi site that offer SUV service - Ron Zimmerman & Edward Korgan. Do you know them? Any insight? TIA! I know a lot of people are worried about booking unknowns but I know some drivers that are very good that people don't really know either. These guys are able to pick up at port so they may be a good option for cruisers not needing a limo but need a bit more space than a towncar.

I have to say something about Happy Limo. I didn't have a good experience with them but more people are willing to share bad experiences then good ones. If you book with the mousesavers code they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee for mousesaver readers. With that in mind and seeing others have had fantastic towncar and limo service, I have been considering them for my port pick up. I figure if they screw up I could make them uphold their guarantee. Plus, knowing they have to fork the fare back over may give them an incentive to do a good job. So I I don't know if you want to completely pass them by. All of them have something happen sooner or later so bad reviews are going to happen. Tiffany & FL Tours had a streak of complaints as well.

That's my 2 cents. Sorry for the novel guys.

The drivers on those sites stay pretty busy. I would suggest they may be unknowns to the disboarders because most of their passengers are not familiar with the boards. It does give you an insight into who to expect if you know who your drivers are ahead of time. I expect if they are willing to put out the information they put out than they probably don't have much to hide. Those two guys are very active in transporting passengers to Disney and the Port. I have seen posts, but rarely, on both of them.

Pictures, pets and how long they lived here. It was a very nice write up so it peeked my interest. Hmmmm, a bit of a toss up now. :scratchin They had a decent price but not so low it'd make me worry. I'm a creature of habit and have been using one guy for the past few trips but I don't think he has a SUV. :guilty: Maybe I'll call him and ask before I jump ship.

We used Tiffany Town car 2 years ago and had a good experience with them. I am looking into who to use this year though. We are staying at the Dolphin so we can't use the Magical Expres right? I was looking into Happy Limo or that link to Transportation2disney...hmmm? There are 4 of us.
But another thing is I will be having to bring my son back to the airport early and wait for his flight to leave and then come back to the hotel with my dd. So is there any cheap way to do that? What about Mears? Thanks!

We are going to go with happy I beleave one other family has asked to join us and they have already booked a towncar through them. We will be eather getting the stretched suv or the hummer. I am thinking about renting them by the hour as it will be cheeper for us rather than pay an extra $20 x 2 for the two extra resort pickups. Thanks so much for the mousesavers thing. I get it everymonth, but never thought about it for the limo company. Mum

Just check the fine print. Happy adds on gratuity, fuel surcharges, airport fees etc. Double check the hourly rate, you may wind up paying the hourly rate for the time the driver is at MCO waiting for your flight. Will the other family be on the same flights as your family?

I've read I think two posts on DISboards from customers/passengers about Ed Korgan, both of them quite positive about their experiences.

I'm also quite sure I've read many posts on DISboards by Ed Korgan. I've never met him, but he seems very committed to his profession and appears to have a wealth of knowledge about the industry in general and Orlando International Airport in particular.

I've seen his picture on his website, and who knows, maybe I'll see him in November. I'll be sure to say HI if I do.

Dizzygirl,

I spoke with the owner of Murray Hill this morning about your situation. He explained to me if you request a town car, he would get you a town car. He wasn't sure who you were but apoligized deeply for the predicament he put you in. The probable situation with returning a town car to pick you up was that no one was available to get you at that time. Usually he has many vans to back up so the ride is picked up on time. He tries to keep the same driver and vehicle with the passengers that they pick up and return. Evidently he wasn't able to do that the times you were talking about.

When you call for your next reservation, he would appreciate it if you let him know of your comment, please let him know your feelings about a town car for the ride in and the ride out and your wishes will be granted.

We've used Happy and ***********. If your getting a lime ask for a limo. We a a super stretch with five of us and it was more than enough room. The best thing about getting a car service is that you can stop a market for snacks and things you didn't want to pack. If you do want to grocery store stop before to mention it when you make the reservation. I think it's well worth it. You lugguge is with you and you can get something out that you may need. With ME your bags could be two hours behind. pirate:

It's pretty much a guarantee that your bags will be about 2 hours behind you.

The way I always pack no matter where I go, that isn't a problem for me. I ALWAYS pack a carry-on with my needs for the first 24 hours in case the AIRLINE delays my luggage. Since I do this anyway, I don't care if my luggage gets to the resort a few hours after I do, since I'm well-equipped with my carry-on.

When I used DME the first few days it was around, my luggage actually arrived about 3.5 hours after I checked in. I really couldn't have cared less. We aren't sure exactly when it arrived because we were in the pool enjoying the start of our vacation.

If we had packed our bathing suits in our checked luggage (instead of our carry-ons) and there was some airline luggage SNAFU, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the pool, and instead would have been sitting around steaming about it. Actually, we would have been stuck at MCO for a while filling out forms and trying not to get angry at airline baggage claim office employees.

In addition, we got a grocery delivery which meant we didn't need to take the time to stop at a grocery store, walk around in a strange market not knowing where anything is, and waiting in line. The service I used delivers to Bell Services, so that meant we didn;t need to schedule the delivery and didn't need to be in our rooms when it arrived, because Bell Services would have held it for us and even kept the cold stuff cold.

No matter how anyone gets from MCO to their resort, I always try to convince people to pack a well-stocked carry-on as a sort of travel insurance against an airline-based luggage delay.
