With ME your bags could be two hours behind.
It's pretty much a guarantee that your bags will be about 2 hours behind you.
The way I always pack no matter where I go, that isn't a problem for me. I ALWAYS pack a carry-on with my needs for the first 24 hours in case the AIRLINE delays my luggage. Since I do this anyway, I don't care if my luggage gets to the resort a few hours after I do, since I'm well-equipped with my carry-on.
When I used DME the first few days it was around, my luggage actually arrived about 3.5 hours after I checked in. I really couldn't have cared less. We aren't sure exactly when it arrived because we were in the pool enjoying the start of our vacation.
If we had packed our bathing suits in our checked luggage (instead of our carry-ons) and there was some airline luggage SNAFU, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the pool, and instead would have been sitting around steaming about it. Actually, we would have been stuck at MCO for a while filling out forms and trying not to get angry at airline baggage claim office employees.
In addition, we got a grocery delivery which meant we didn't need to take the time to stop at a grocery store, walk around in a strange market not knowing where anything is, and waiting in line. The service I used delivers to Bell Services, so that meant we didn;t need to schedule the delivery and didn't need to be in our rooms when it arrived, because Bell Services would have held it for us and even kept the cold stuff cold.
No matter how anyone gets from MCO to their resort, I always try to convince people to pack a well-stocked carry-on as a sort of
travel insurance against an airline-based luggage delay.
