Am I the only one disappointed at DL's big kickoff? Nothing on Jan 1 to start the year. I as there Jan 2012 for Three Kings - I suppose it is still accurate to use the work 'returns' - but as others have mentioned - this had already been advertised... Golden Horseshoe is awesome - but not nightly. And WDW gets an hourly New Years count down with music and characters dancing around. DL has a Tomorrowland - Why can't we have a nightly party? :confused3 Sorry to be the scrooge - I am heading out Jan 2nd and 3rd and was SOO excited to experience LIMITED TIME MAGIC and I get nothing. Time to re-focus my energy on the positives - DD7 is finally tall enough for Indy so we will have that to look forward to :cool1:

You are not the only one disappointed. I am excited for the Three Kings but I already was excited for that. I think they should do the special hourly countdown as part of the Dancing with Disney and/or Mad Tea Party at DCA. Maybe there will still be other special things for Limited Time Magic and if not there are so many special things that are only at DL :)

I'd be a lot more disappointed if I were going to WDW. Theirs seems a lot worse than DL's. I really do hope they get more for the rest of the month than the opportunity to buy some ears.

I think lots of people are going to be disappointed- DL never said there would be something every night, or even every week- just things spread out all year- yet look at all the posts where people are talking about what will happen when they are there- by the odds- nothing. Go with that idea and if you happen to be there when something is going on- well then whoohoo a bonus. And for counting 3 King's Day- unless they are making it a bigger celebration than usual- not very fair to count it...

I think another part of the disappointment may be tied to the promotion being hyped as "a year of unexpected experiences" and the first announcement (more in WDW's case) is mainly a trinket you can purchase.

I'm excited though! GOLDEN HORSESHOE!!

They did say every week. "We have 52 weeks of magical surprises planned for you at Disney Parks in 2013." Was the first sentence of the announcement back in October.

First- your other post about the ears is spot on- someone here called it though- remember the post about buying the churro?:lmao:

Second- I still don't read this as something every week- just special things throughout 52 weeks...

I'm excited for you seeing the Golden Horseshoe revue again :)

Some info about the Revue coming back for those interested. "A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue." It will be hosted by Miss Lily and her Saloon Girls with favorite song and dance numbers including "Hello, Everybody," "A Good Man Is Hard to Find," "Belly up to the Bar" and "Can-Can." it will be every Thursday through Monday, from Jan. 10 to Feb. 4; showtimes are at 11:30 am, 12:45 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 5:15 pm, and 6:30 pm. The 6:30pm showing every show day is a special AP-only show. As of now, Disney is planning to charge $35 per person for APs to reserve a spot. And along with admission to the show, the price includes a meal of items inspired by the original menu and a commemorative keepsake.

Do you know when we can start reserving our spots?

That I am unsure of. I would guess a few days before it officially starts. But keep an eye out for more info from DLR. :)

Ah, yes an additional admission price after admission. Maybe it's 52 weeks of pocket gouging? :confused3

"Limited Time Magic" doesn't exactly roll of the tongue does it? I think I'd fire the marketing team that came up with this one. Basically these are "special magic surprises" that will happen throughout the year, not really something you can plan for if you're coming from out of town and have to buy airfare in advance. Limited Time Magic just sounds so negative to me.

I have a feeling most-not all- of the LTM surprises will have a paid option.

But to be honest, the $35 deal doesn't sound too bad. You're guaranteed a seat, you get a meal, and a keepsake. If I can get reservations I'm definitely game to pay that price.

And if you think about it, the meal they're offering I'd value anywhere from $10-$15 in the typical park pricing and then there's a boot mug that will probably has around a $12 value. That's most of the $35 right there.

I hardly think this is accurate. You don't have to pay to see the Golden Horseshoe Revue. If you CHOOSE to pay, you are paying for a guaranteed seat, food, and a keepsake. If you CHOOSE not to pay, you can still see the show (space permitting), buy food if you want it, and not get a keepsake.

I would not call that "pocket gouging" at all. If you don't want the extras, don't pay for them.

I got a reservation for January 26th showing. We just happened to have a reservation in a one bedroom villa that weekend.

I had some trouble getting through. When I tried to call the AP number given on DLR's website this afternoon, there wasn't a clear option to choose (Press # for purchasing the Golden Horseshoe Revue Dinner tickets). I chose "Disney Dining" but it took me to the public reservation line (which I thought would happen). After hearing I wanted the Golden Horseshoe Revue Dinner tickets, the CM transferred me back to the AP line. Again, I was stuck with no options and then disconnected! I called Disney Dining and explained what was happening. The CM told me to press "0" when I got the menu recording and (at the time) there would be a 15 minute wait.

I hope they add an option to the menu recording for the Revue Dinner tickets tomorrow, but if not, press 0 to talk to a CM and order your tickets.

I am excited about the Golden Horseshoe Revue Dinner. My family has gone to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at WDW twice. It will be fun to see it (or something similar at Disneyland) again.
