I've been waiting to see what disney was going to announce for limited time magic in April....yesterday was the last day of the special Easter magic....we leave in less than two weeks and I still don't see anything for April. Am I missing something??

It won't be posted until the Friday before. So if you want to know the limited time magic for Monday April 8, it will go up on the site Friday April 5.

There have been some exceptions to this, like the Oz event that goes on for several weeks has obviously been up there a while. But most of the events are week long events and are only posted that Friday before.

I saw a notice (on Facebook, maybe?) that DL would be offering "Cozy Cone Motel" hats starting April 1st (and I don't think it was a joke ;)). WDW showed a picture of their special ears available during this time - strawberry tops (very cute) but I haven't seen a picture of the Cozy Cone hats. I'll be there later today - maybe I can find out!

I'm bummed that we will miss the Iron Man exhibition by a week....

Ah - just found this again - in the news section of the main DisBoard page:

Cozy Cone Hats
April 1 - 30, 2013
Limited Time Magic
Purchase special Cozy Cone Motel inspired hats at Sarge's Surplus Hut in Cars Land all throughout April (while supplies last).
Dumbo Screening for Annual Passholders
April 4, 2013
Limited Time Magic
Annual Passholders can catch a screening of the Walt Disney classic Dumbo at the Main Street Opera House at 5:00pm. Passholders must register in person at the Opera House starting at 11:30am the day of the event. Attendees will also receive a souvenir Dumbo-themed bucket!

I want to do this one, but I have no idea how early I should plan on lining up. It is Spring Break for all area schools, and there is only 1 screening. Any guidance is appreciated.

Well, not sure how this will work but I wouldn't be too concerned about the area school pass holders being there, and here's why... Unless most people in Southern California purchase Deluxe tickets, which I doubt, they will have to purchase a day pass just to get in the park on this day. I just don't see that happening. I'm sure it will be packed but I don't think (and hope) that it will be the Southern Cali pass holders.

This year will be interesting because Disney cut the discounts for residents. I hope it's not crowded at all.

We are heading to DLR on Wed. Am not pleased by the "offerings" this week and will complain at City Hall.

Welcome to DIS.

MANY AP holders who live in So Cal have premium passes so that they can drop in and visit the Parks any time they want.

Unrelated... The week before and the week after Easter are the two busiest weeks during the Sprung Break run at DLR.

I find this mystifying. Haha... You're complaining about extras that they don't have to give us? What am I missing here?

So, let's review the chronology. Disney announces, with great fanfare, their Limited Time Magic promotion. Something new each week - and some special events such as the Golden Horseshoe, long long friends week, special holiday events, etc.

But there's no way to know what's coming since they don't announce things much in advance. So, we end up deciding to go during our school's spring break (this coming week). But of course won't know what we'll get. But we were certainly enthused by last week's Easter activities with the rare sighting of Roger Rabbit and all the other things.

Do we get to see special characters? No
Do we get a special show? No
Do we get a special musical experience? No
Do we get a special menu item? No
Do we get a special ride experience? No

We get a merchandise opportunity (and not a very good one at that).

And are we coming during a slow week during off season? NO! We're going during SPRING BREAK week when the crowds are super high.

I'm thinking of three letters, which you can probably guess.

It's true - no guarantee. But it's not like Disney didn't set at least some modest expectations for us. Expectations that in no way did Disney come close to.

Ahh... I gotcha. Just disappointing?

I understand that. I wish we were there during Mardi Gras because the Tiana stuff looked great, the food looked great, etc.

I wish we were there for Valentine's because it looked adorable!

I wish we were there for Easter because the bunnies were cute, the cupcakes looked amazing, etc.

I get ya.

But I just see it as bonus/grab bag extras. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit. ;)

Although, I can honestly say, I'm giving those horrible Cozy Cone hats a wide berth. LOL!

That's what I was thinking. We live out of state and pony up the $ for the Deluxe AP. Granted, that is our lowest-cost option. But the people who live nearby? They are the ones who will get the most use out of any level of pass, and the ones who will often want to come 2 Saturdays a month, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Premium AP holders live within a couple of hours of DLR. I'm pretty sure we'd have Premiums if we lived that close.

I wish we were there for ...

Yeah, many of us gaze on in wonder at things we will only ever see on-line. Our travel plans are made many months in advance and we have to take what we can get, or in the case of refurbs, don't get.

Rumor is that next week is long lost friends week. Don't know if it's true or not. We'll have to wait and see on Friday.

So they're busting out the Prince John and Sheriff of Nottingham costumes? ;)

Regarding the Long Lost Friends Week; would that be from the 8th to the 12th then? I arrive all the way from Canada for my birthweek on the 12th at 9am! So if that's the case, then I'll start my 5 day park hopper ticket on the 12th to meet the Long Lost Friends! :) ::yes::

I don't have very many details (and to be honest don't know for sure how reliable my source is-I do know they work in the character/entertainment section) but I would hope it'd still be going on the 12th if it is in fact next week.
