I booked a room at HRH for October. When I asked the reservationist if we could activate our FOLT access early in the AM, she said yes.

However, she said that we would only have FOLT access once for each ride per day! Has anyone heard anything similar to this?

I was under the impression, it was unlimited access. Will the rules be changing?????

Thanks for any guidance,
Mom to Ken, Dan & Tom

Unless they install computers to track it I don't know how they would enforce this.

I've read disclaimers on official literature with similar limitations - I think only once per hour on the same ride - but as of May 20th and 21st it they were letting you do FOTL as often as you wanted.

From what I understand the all-day FOTL will slowly be phased out and in replace will be the FOTL for each attaraction once a day.

i heard that too- that would be a big bummer! i mean heck if i had that thing they might never get me off the hulk. BTW i did hulk 6 times in a row, with out getting up, without useing Fotl! they just said keep on riding!

Do you know when they are going to be starting this? I knew it was too good to be true!

You can also get express tickets to add to your FOTL.

I just got my tx frojm Universal. We are staying at HRH next week!!! BUT, they included their brochure of the park, and it says "on-site hotel guests receive FOTL for THE FIRST HOUR OF EACH DAY. " I checked the date of the brochure and it has been out at least 4 months. I sure hope this is not the case??? Anyone able to clarify this? thanks, M

I hope that isn't true. The main reason we are staying at HRH in June is for FOTL!!!! I haven't yet received any of my literature yet. My travel agent said I wouldn't get anything until about 2 weeks before we arrive! In the video, though, I doesn't say only the first hour FOTL! Anybody have official word? I would really appreciate it.

Mabelette - that's the literature I was referring to - they are not doing that - right now anyway.

The universal website featuring the HRH still states "FOTL access all day every day"! When I confirmed my ressies for October the CM stated that the FOTL would still be in affect as above. Of course if I had a dime for every time...............well you know the rest!!!

FOTL is the only reason I am staying at the HRH in October. I truly hope this isn't true!!! Anyone come back recently?? How was it??

We are going in November and I asked if for sure the FOTL would be in effect for all day, and they said yes at the HRH. If they are going to change the rules, they should start at the beginning of next year and tell people that when they book reservations. I think that would be unfair to change rules once they have you booked you under the pretense you will have it all day. I hope they are more fair than that.

Just got back last week, went to IOA on a Thursday May 24th and the place was packed.
We had multi-day tickets. The express pass machines have long lines, have problems scanning the tickets, and sell out by noon.

Can't comment on FOTL, but I'm sure it won't last because like others have said, "It is too good to be true." FOTL is the only want to see the park now.

When you have an Express pass, it works. But you can only have 3 out at time, by the time they expire, the machines are shut down and you can't get more.

IOA needs more roller coasters. This is the only way they're going to handle the large crowds. They need more attractions. Getting Posiden's Fury back in July will help.

Biggest piece of advice from me. Get there early before the gate opens. In the afternoon from say noon to 5pm, the park is jammed, 60-75 minute waits. Go see the Sinbad show, eat lunch, or walk to Universal and hang out for a few hours. Kids love the Woody Wood Pecker water play area, bring extra cloths. Then come back before closing to get more rides as the field trip busses are leaving.

I just spent Saturday the 26th, Sunday the 27th and Monday the 28th at both Universal parks and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel.

FOTL was all day. The parks were quite empty until lunch time on all 3 days. After lunch, crowds were really big and FOTL was heaven sent. :D

Yes, FOTL access for on-site hotel guests is still all-day without limitations.

However, as we have stated before, with a 3rd hotel coming on-line next year - the policy of "one FOTL access per ride per day" will soon be implemented.

Take a look at the small print on ALL the new Portofino and Hard Rock literature, it's already appearing.

And, at many of the attractions, the hardware and wiring for the computers to scan your room keys is also starting to appear. I honestly, would not be surprised if we begin enforcing the "once per ride per room key per day" policy shortly after Labor Day, 2001.

Also "Front of the Line access All Day Every Day" still works. Technically, there are no daily or hourly restrictions to FOTL access like their used to be. Just check the small print - usually their is a small "*" after All Day Every Day with the small print stating "Valid only once per attraction per day."

You know if I can do it once per day, all day, that is just fine with me! I think that is very fair.

With six of us, someone is is going to pucker out before we get to go on everything anyway!

I have a $117 HRH garden room view in three weeks and if I can get on every ride once, and enjoy a wonderful hotel, that will be better than I have ever done at Disney!

I know this may sound like whining but when I booked my vacation several months back the FOTL access was advertised as being "all day every day." Universal has every right to change the rules but I feel they should honor the advertised policy for those who made ressies before the proposed changes. My brochures clearly state "all day every day"! I understand that the newer ones have the * with fine print stating "once per day". Sounds like the old Bait and Switch to me!!!

Is there a limit to how many people can use a HRH room key? How many keys do you get a check in? Any info would be great!!!!

CoasterEV or Earl.

I know the abuse you guys took earlier in the year when you gave us advance warning, so I know I ask alot but....if you do hear when the new policy will go into effect please pass it along.

I have been careful not to get my family's hopes built up. I made reservations in February for November and have been assuming that the change could come at any time. As time has passed I started to think it might not happen til next year (hope, hope). If you find out otherwise let us down easy, but please let us down.

Hey, there hasn't been any rumor talk for awhile. Earl I hope you have enough work to keep you busy. I know you guys are waiting until the creative team's moving van arrives before you announce that next attraction (lol).
