Limited child menu selections?

I'm looking at the Children's menus for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's and I'm really disappointed with the selections. I'm curious does the Crystal Palace only offer mac & cheese and chicken fingers? That's all that was listed on the allearsnet website. Also with Chef Mickey again it's just mac & cheese, pizza, chicken & veggies. Are there other choices? I just don't see too many healthy selections. My dd has sensory issues and we think Autism and I'm looking at these menus knowing she won't eat anything that's on them. She is very particular and at the moment about the only thing she will eat is soup, maybe some veggies and salad. Would they allow us to substitute a soup or salad from the adult menu? I'm wondering what to do. If we weren't on the free dining plan I would probably not even purchase a meal for her and feed her elsewhere. We are really only going for the characters. Thanks

I think at buffets, kids can eat from either the adult or child buffet ( and vice versa also, I believe). I think it's just referred to as a child buffet cause it's typical "kid food". So I don't think it will be a problem for you.

Thanks, I sure hope that's the case. I think we'll be able to find something for her to eat then. :)

It is absolutely the case that children and adults can eat off of any part of the buffet. Buffets will be a good choice for you. Regular sitdowns do have a limited child's menu. Nothing precludes you from ordering off the adult menu for your child except the price and the dining plan. If your child will eat an appetizer better than the mac and cheese on the child's menu just order the appetizer for them.

These are both buffets and anyone can have anything they offer. Also, if there are food allergies or sensitivities you can ask the chefs and they can make you something special. HTH

I actually prefer doing the buffets for this very reason-there are more "healthier" veggie/pasta choices available (from the adult side) than if you were to go to a sit-down restaurant and order off the menu. I really don't want my girls eating chicken fingers/hot dogs with fries twice a day for the week! :rotfl:

Anyone can get anything from anywhere at a Disney buffet. They just call it a child's menu before it's typically more kid friendly. I know my husband has eaten more than his share of food off the kid's side of Disney buffets. And my granddaughter certainly had her fair share of stuff from the adult's sides.
