Limited Availability a Year Out? (October 2025)

I'm trying to book next year's trip and seeing limited availability for multiple resorts. I'm not able to find standard view rooms in some places, while others are sold out except for club level. Is this something that will change as time goes on? What's the ideal window for booking? I thought booking a year ahead would give me my best chance at the cheapest rooms but I guess not. In case it matters, I'm looking for 10/22 to 10/25, so a Wednesday to Saturday stay, not a holiday weekend.

Well October 2025 has been available to book for a while. Just November and December 2025 just became available last week. Also the Gartner IT/Expo 2025 is at the Swan & Dolphin Oct. 20 -23, 2025. Are you looking in the Epcot area?

I'm not sure what you're seeing or not seeing...

I just looked and I'd say the MAJORITY of resorts and practically all room types seem to be available...
I think POFQ was the one that I happened to see didn't have standard available but it is a smaller resort and probably goes faster.

Other than that I did notice that several DVC resorts were not available which likely has to do with letting DVC members have "first dibs"?

What I am seeing is rack rate is extremely high so I'd be either booking and hoping you qualify for a discount later or just holding out until a discount perhaps becomes available.

It's not about "first dibs". DVC rooms aren't posted until 11 months out even for cash stay inventory.

Gotcha.
Yeah makes sense that if its not available for DVC owners until 11 months then it shouldn't be available for cash bookings until then either.

I think the points inventory and the cash inventory are two different pools, so I don't think that cash bookings take away from rooms available to owners using points. In any case, all of it is made available 11 months in advance.

Call Disney. Some quick poking around and I'm seeing decent availability including Standard rooms at Values, Preferred rooms at Mods and Standard/Resort View at Deluxes (Disney's new version of standard view for select deluxe hotels is "resort" view :sad2: ). Sometimes the website glitches on our end and we can't see everything actually available, calling Disney (or using a TA) will get around this.

What resorts are you looking for standard view rooms? Deluxe resorts do not have the standard view room classification. WDW deleted that category last year. The standard & garden view rooms were combined into the “resort view” category. Moderate & value resorts still have standard view rooms.

I see 20 resorts with rooms available for your dates when I search. Sometimes the search will default to a promotion that isn’t valid in that time frame so shows no availability. Search any resort, when the availability page comes up, make sure “room” is selected. From that page you can change your search to all resorts.

I thought of that glitch with the promotions too when I read this earlier, but then I figured if that is what happened no rooms at all would have shown up. OP said they saw club level rooms so that's probably not it. I'm guessing your first thought is right and they don't know about the newer "resort" category.

Oh that explains it. We're YC & BC regulars but I didn't realize the change - or how high rack rates were. So I guess we'd need resort view now. I'll go check for those. Thank you!
