Long ago, we learned the hard way there was a daily limit on what could be charged to your room before you had to come to the desk and authorize it to be charged to your card, basically making a payment. Is this still a thing? I know the limit then was something like $500 a day if you were at a value resort.

That happened in the past, before Disney started to put a hold on whatever credit or debit card you have on your room. Now they put a hold on your charges instead.

If you do a mobile order, your credit card or Disney gift card are charged right away. The mobile order charges do not go to the room. And most places want you to mobile order now.

Thanks. I figured it had changed. We were much younger (and poorer) at the time, but I had splurged on a private fireworks cruise the night before as my husband had just returned from deployment right before the trip. Went to the park the next day and tried to buy lunch. Proceeded to spend way too much time on the phone to get it straightened out.

Have had that sort of experience!
