Lime green - why?

Hi all,
I have been reading about people on these boards who will be wearing Lime Green. Did I miss something? What does this mean? I woudl love to know.
I have only been on these boards since spring of this year!

Hi Torontogal!

Lime green has become the unofficial/official color that DISers wear to recognize each other while at WDW.... I've seen mention of ribbons, lime green shirts, lime green Mickeys on hotel room doors-- some creative people on these boards!!

Can't wait to see that green!

I do not have any lime green outfits. Maybe I will "tie a lime ribbon around the ol' stroller!"

I've been there twice recently, both times I wore Lime Green, and when I saw someone else wearing the color, I asked if they were a Dis-er, each time it was a negative. Though I do remember one woman who HAD to be a dis-er, because she was green from the top of her head to the bottom of her kitten heeled flip=flop. She was an older lady, but she looked GOOD.

Just happens to be one of my fav. colors..
If you dont have nothing to wear...do what I am going to do!
I want to my local homedepot and took lime green mickey mouse shape paint samples. I am going to pin one on me with my name PAMOUSELOVER and put them on our door to our room.
SHH dont tell home depot! They might start charging for them!

It all started back in the fall of 1999. There were a lot less people on the boards and there were a lot of people going in October for the Millennium Celebration at the same time. The lime green was an idea because it was the color of Goofy's hat and so that is where and when it started.

I've met a few people who were wearing lime green. I wore a name badge in January when I went with a bunch of DIS board WISHer's for the Marathon. I didn't meet anyone that wasn't with our group because of wearing the lime green.

I did meet PirateoftheCarolina's last Nov/Dec on the bus to the All Star resorts.

Its fun looking for the lime green, although approaching someone sounds silly if they don't know what the DIS is!

Just kidding! I wore my lime green ribbon faithfully every day of our 2003 trip and will do the same this Sept..........also will attach a lime green Mickey head to my backpack. That is, if I can ever find one in stock at my Home Depot!!!! There must be a lot of DISers in my area bc. that one color is always empty!!!!!!
