Just wondering... I started on these boards when I was planning our first trip to WDW four years ago and there was constant talk of wearing lime green ribbons in the parks to identify yourself as a DISer. I got my ribbon and I wore it proudly, but never saw any others.

I still wear my ribbon when I go to DL, but do the DL DISers usually wear the ribbons? Not that it matters because I will still wear my ribbon proudly, but I was just wondering.

Thanks!!! :flower:

We got the lime green Mickey heads and wore them when we went to WDW - and yes, we did run into a couple of other Dis-ers. It was fun stopping to chat and putting faces with names I had seen on the boards!

We actually go to DL quite often and I never really thought about taking my lime green Mickey along - maybe I'll have to do that next time.

<<-- has a DIS button on her backpack...

Anyway- I would venture to say DL isnt a really big DIS territory (compare the DL board to the WDW ones...) so the amount of DIS people at DL at a given time is prob tiny compared to the WDW kids...

I can say I did have a DIS "meet" at DL once (okay so I went up to Daannzzz at the LP meet we were at and so we had a brief meet ;)

Good question! I was just wondering the same thing, since I may be on my own while there in May. Should I or shouldn't I wear a lime green ribbon? I understand the parks will be crowded due to the 50th Anniversary Celebration. :crowded: Although I am a little shy  I will say a friendly hello  if you happen to have the color of Dis on!

I am glad I wasn't the only one wondering about the ribbons. "Montana" I would say go ahead and wear your ribbon. At least I will know there is someone else out there wearing theirs too.

Only 4 more sleeps!!!! :cheer2:

Where your ribbon proudly I say. I plan to wear mine the next time I head to DL and definately have mine on during my WDW visit. I would wear it for sure. You never know when another DISer will be there wearing their's as well. It wouldn't do any harm to wear it you know.

I don't wear or even have a ribbon but I have kept an eye out for them but have yet to spot one.

so you get just a lime green ribbon?
do you tie it? or crimp edges? how long is it?
where woudl you pin it?

We'll have our Alien Green Mickey ears on our stuff somewhere (stroller and diaperbag). Hope to see some DISers there!

I just bought shirts from the DIS Shop that we will be wearing during our upcoming visit. We are going to be there four days so instead of us all wearing them on the same day, only one of us will...that way we'll have the whole trip covered!

I have mine on my hat (see picture in signature) as well as on my lanyard. I even have it tied to my luggage.

Anything lime green tied anywhere will work.

I will continue to keep a look out for any fellow DISers out there.

This will be our first time in Disneyland and I will wear
it SOMEWHERE - have only ever met one family at WDW,
but I'm not going to give up! Been chatting with super nice
people on cruise board who are on our cruise and I hope they
will recognize the green ribbon. - Lucy

When I first got on the boards, I was preparing for our DCL trip last year and learned about the lime green Mickey heads in the Home Depot paint area. That seemed to be the popular item that they would put in their clear plastic lanyard card holders. I put our green Mickey head in the outside see-through pouch of my small camera bag that I carry everywhere. Now no matter where I carry the camera bag, the green Mickey is displayed.

I have a Disneyland bag that includes 1 lime green ribbon, a custom made Mickey head with DIS (from a nice DISer), a Disneyland Guest of Honor Badge with my real name and a new official DIS button. I have been stopped before at Disneyland and WDW. And if I see you at Disneyland, I will stop you and say hello.
