There's a thread over on the TPAS board about lime green mickeys and lime green ribbons, and talk of starting up the tradition of having DISboard folk wear these while in the theme parks, so we can identify each other. I also see that @slo dug out her old pins and ribbons for her recent trip. What do you guys think? Are the CB-ers up for doing this, for trying to wear lime green ribbons on a shirt or backpack the next time you go to Disney? It was so much fun, back in the day, to spot another DIS-er on vacation in the World!!

I think the lime green ribbons/mickey heads were a great thing.

Sadly, many (like MANY) other groups are also now doing lime green identifiers. I was recently at the Calgary Stampede and there was a large group with lime green visors and t-shirts for their group.

I was on a cruise once (not DCL) where lots of people were wearing name badges that were Mickey heads in lime green with their names on them. I asked one woman who she was on the DISboards, and she gave me a totally blank look - she never heard of DISboards. She said their group organizer made the nametags and gave them to everyone to use.

:teeth: Why, Shmoo, didn't you let me know you were in town? I hope you enjoyed your visit! :wave2: Y'all come back now, ya hear?

I loved it back in the day - it was a lot of fun.

Sadly….I think people are getting less and less social in real life as they become more and more social on the internet. I can talk to anybody anywhere - my DD19 always says I can make friends with anyone, and that’s true. Many times I will talk to someone I don’t know and they look at me like I have 3 heads. This happened to me a few times on our last trip. I often have to remind myself that just because I enjoy talking with people doesn’t mean others have to like talking with me,

I totally understand. I am kinda introverted, except at Disney. I guess I feel like we have a common stepping stone. Once I get to talking, I am very comfortable with it. Some peole don't care for it though, which is fine.

In all the years I wore lime green pin/ribbon/DIS shirts, only ever had 2-3 people come to me (one was at Disneyland)
I know I don't like approaching strangers.....DH doesn't have a problem with it.
I still have one small bag that has a lime green ribbon and it and I probably have my pin

slo, I know what you mean about talking to people. I'm like that too. My husband knows that it will take me a while to leave a store, restaurant, etc because I talk to the sales people, wait staff, etc, or to other people. I've never had anyone not talk with me, but I can usually weed them out, LOL. If someone avoids looking at you, then I don't bother them. I've met lots of nice people like this.
