Lilo costume up to $112 on Ebay!!

DD#2 is not set for Halloween--she kind of wanted to be Hermoine Granger, but we saw a Harry Potter costume that was similar and it was $30, and made very cheaply. So I told her I'd check Ebay.
She has mentioned wanting to be Lilo as well, although we have a hula costume from her sister's recital 2 years ago that I would probably have her wear.
On a lark I checked EBay for a Lilo costume in her size--and the first one there is $112!!!!!!! The next cheapest is $52!!! and there are several to bid on that are minimum bid of $49!!!
Who pays that for a Halloween costume?!?!?

I'm not proud of this maybe even alil ashamed but at "the world of Disney" store in downtown Disney...Me. I always let dd pick her costume....princesses have so many acces. that the last three years have been about $100. However, I let everyone I know who has a chiuld it will fit borrow them, it is almost a cycle, some parents of dd freinds just tell her that next year they are going to be whatever dd was the year before. This year I lucked out..Pink ballerina for the MNNSHP, last year I had Meryweather(sp) made for her, it was worth it, she looked so cute on space mountain with wings.

You know, I might understand if it was a new costume with accessories--but this is a costume that retailed for what, $40? I know it is sold out in stores, but I can't see paying almost 3x the retail price on EBay.
My girls have been so many princesses...Megara, Belle, Mulan, Pocahontas. The oldest is past that stage and my youngest is a boy, so my princess days are numbered. on the other hand, he was Woody last year and is Buzz this year--with a costume I got on EBay at a savings over buying it at the store.

Oh, I did not realize that it was one that you could buy cheaper, I thought it was just a super nice costume, There is no way that I would pay 2 or 3 times what it orginally sells for.

I am 3 hours away from selling my DS's Captain Hook costume on Ebay for $53.00!
Here is the kicker though. I bought it on sale about 3 years ago for $6.99. He wore the costume for 2 Halloweens and he has been using it to play "pirates" for the past year.
Luckily he doesn't destroy his stuff and it is still is perfect condition. They don't sell it anymore at the Disney Store and I guess there is still demand for it. It made my day!!

Is it really sold out? The DS near me had it last time I was in the store (Friday). If you want, I can take a look tomorrow to see if they've got a Lilo costume in your DD size.

Thank you Ashley, but I don't think we need to do that--I know the TDS here only had it up to 6x. I have pretty much convinced her that the recital costume will work--its a loud tropical print unitard with a grass skirt and flowers for hair, neck, wrists and ankles--and it's paid for!!

The only Lilo/Stitch costume I saw for $112 on ebay was for the Stitch costume - not the Lilo one. In fact, all of the really high-priced ones ($40+) were all Stitch even though they said also said Lilo in the description. I still think this is outrageous for a costume originally priced at $34.50 but I guess if TDS (and catalog and online) are sold out then others may feel differently. I bet many of these parents are just kicking themselves for not buying these costumes as soon as they came out!!

It appears that the Lilo costume is still available online and at the stores so should anyone need it they should be okay for the time being anyway
