Lil' OT: First Day of School Gift for Teacher?

I am a teacher and certainly don't want or expect gifts at any time of the year. I know people mean well but the best gifts I ever received were ones the whole class could share. Last year at Christmas time I asked parents who felt they wanted to give me a gift to make it one for the class. We got soccer balls, basketballs, markers, pencils and lots of great books. So if you really want to send in a gift I would suggest making it one everyone can share. I have enough candles and teacher mugs to last a lifetime!!!!!!!!!

Target had these very cute teacher mugs in the $ section, I got one for each teacher and then filled them with Hugs & Kisses candies. Then I make Chocolate caramel covered apples for DD's to give them on the first day of school.
