Likelihood of waitlist coming through?

Here's the scenario ....

DH has a conference to attend at the Contemporary from 2/19-2/21 so I called about availability at VWL. We get in late on the 18th so I grabbed a studio for that night for our family of 4. Nothing is available for pts. on the 19th but we can get our preferred 2 BR for the 20th & 21st.

I have confirmed ressies for the studio on the 18th and the 2BR on the 20th & 21st. I have waitlisted 1st available for either a studio or a 2BR for the 19th. I also have a cash ressie for a studio for the 19th just in case the waitlist does not come through.

I have never done this before and would LOVE feedback to see if I've missed anything or should change anything at this point......

Am I missing anything? How likely is it for a waitlist to come through and when would it be most likely for checking on the website?

When DH sprung the trip on me for this past Feb., we had to switch resorts to get 4 nights. I'm soooo thankful we can at least stay at the same place throughout this time around!!

We'll send pixie dust . I once waitlisted for the 7 months and actually switched resorts while at Disney as WLV opened up and I was at SSR so I switched.

I think you've done a good job - you have a good back up plan. You could also waitlist for a 2 bedroom for both the 18th and the 19th so you don't have to move at all, but maybe you don't want to spend the points due to the late arrival.

Assume you didn't waitlist for a 1 bedroom because then you would have to move twice and that's just too much - it would be for us, too. But if a 1 bedroom would work, then you could waitlist for a 1 bedroom for the whole trip.

There is still time for the waitlist to come through. If it's no trouble, I'd check the waitlist daily. That's because if the studio comes through first and you really want the 2 bedroom, you have to call MS and get back on the waitlist for the 2 bedroom. If the studio comes through first, the 2 bedroom waitlist will be automatically canceled and if the 2 bedroom comes through first, then the studio waitlist gets automatically canceled.

The most likely time for your waitlists to work are around the 30-31 day mark. Members will cancel at that point if their plans aren't very firm to avoid the holding account.
