Like to read, bored w/the usual, need recommendations....

I read the same genre as you...try Jeffrey Archer(he has a ton of books out)

I'm currently reading "Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith. I wasn't really sure if I'd like it when I picked it up...but I'm LOVING it. It takes place in the Soviet Union during Stalin's era...it's Really Really good - I have a hard time putting it down to go to sleep!!

You know this is based on a true story, right? I saw a documentary about it several years ago. This serial child killer killed something like 50 children I believe. Very good book.

Water for Elephants was one of my favorites.
Devil and the White City also very very good.
The Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series one of my favorites. Have read them more than once.

Just bumping the thread up to say that I went out and bought a book by one of the authors recommended here (James Rollins) and so far I am LOVING it!! Thank you Holly!!! I usually get at least one B&N gift certificate for Christmas so I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the books in this series. It's always so exciting to discover a new author. :)

James Rollins !!! LOVE his books. have read all of them and anticiapting the new coming out in a few days....

if you like Rollins....try Matthew Riley....The Seven Sacred Stones and the The Six something...GREAT !! and the #3 book is due in the next few weeks

I have read ALL the Preston/Child books...the Pendergrast novels are really good...the most recent book was a little gory for me but if you liek Patterson you will be good with it.

I am also on to Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series....have read about 7 so far...really really like them...a lot like Rollins books and Sigma Force

These authors have quiet a few books so you should be set for a while...:goodvibes

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is the best book I have read in years. Seriously cannot stop thinking about it months later. It is classified as Young Adult but it is anything but. I made my DH read it and he hasn't read a book since high school :lmao: and he loved it too. I just finished the 2nd book (it is a planned trilogy) called Catching Fire and it was great too.
