Seriously, the first time I wore my LGMHs on my bag I expected to meet dozens of DISers. I didn't see a single LGMH that entire week!

The second time, I did meet a DISer (whgrn) in Toy Story Pizza Planet. (She was standing behind me in line and noticed my tag.) That was fun!

Don't give up on the LGMHs. Even if you only meet one DISer because of them, it will be worth it!

I love the Mickey lamp posts, they have instructions on the site as to how to make them yourself, they are a DIY project lol. I loved the camping board and am so glad I found it but...staying in a cabin you are treated a little bit like a 2nd class citizen by some...like you aren't really camping. Which of course you aren't. But then again I don't consider an RV really camping either!

It's really an RV board I think. I mean it's great that they love it so much but if people wanted to rent an RV they would. They picked a cabin because they wanted a cabin!

I saw those instructions, and lmao! They take their camping so seriously. But I think you're right. RVing isn't hardcore camping, just staying in a really really small value! Hmmm, now that I think about it, it's actually more like a studio, cuz you get the kitchen.

I think some on the camping board think that those who stay in the Lodge or in the cabins have a tude, but I haven't seen it. Everyone I've ever met, just wants to have a great family vacay just like everyone else.

Thanks on the bag. It was a lot of fun getting it done (except the ribbon, which is no big deal to add.) Hey, think I should hot glue it on, or stitch it on?? I think I should go with stitching... more permanent.

We do have a way long time to get things all sorted out, and when they do, I'm sure maroo will shake things up. But until then, we sure are having a great time! I like POR too, I hope we end up staying there.

Kathy, Kathy, you are NEVER "fashion challenged"! I've seen loads of your pictures, and fashion-challenged is one word I would never use to describe you!! See, your LGMH was perfectly matched and coordinated with your LG Crocs!!!

I think it's hit and miss with them. In fact, I'm thinking that unless you really have a meet set up, you probably won't run into anyone; and if you do, they turn and run like you're a slasher anyway.

Nevertheless, we will proudly wear them emblazoned on our fashionable and color-coordinated bags (can't go too wrong with black ) and hope we aren't seen as Charles Manson followers, and that children aren't scooped from our presence like we have the plague.

Well, I am such a wise woman that I am attempting to start a PTR if I can get it finished today. This thought is a little insane for several reasons - 1) I leave in 38 days 2) We sold our house and I am moving in 4 days so I am a teeny bit busy lol 3) work is busy and 4) Jordan is back to school and all of those activities which of course I am right in the middle of.

But, I figure, you guys like my brand of crazy or we wouldn't all get along so well and I don't know when my next trip will be and I would really like to do a PTR/TR. So, if you can forgive what will most likely be a PTR that is not quite as witty and verbose as I would like it to be, then I think I will go for it!

I made a dent on the pre trip reports - I didnt get to 5 of them tho! (send a prayer for Deyki as he was having migraines) I SERIOUSLY have to go to the laundromat! and I hear I am in training, so that means 3 1/2 miles today...

Found the version I rented on Amazon : Northanger Abbey
It was SO good! I thought it was BBC, but when I looked it up for you I saw it was made by Masterpiece Theater. Surprisingly well made, and the casting is dead on! Enjoy!

Lauren - my dear friend with severe CP - has the swine flu. Despite our best efforts to prevent it.

I am very, very nervous about this. We have lost several kids in MS to this flu this year and with her underlying conditions, this can be very serious.

She started Tamiflu last night because William already had it...so that is good.

Please pray for them!!

So, today I did my bi-weekly add up the costs routine (am I the only one who obsesses like this?) and realized again what a great deal maroo scored for us a couple of weeks ago! However, while we are still in original budget of $1,500, there isn't a whole lot of leeway between the "as-of-right-now-plans" total and that magic hard-stop number.

Okay... First off, the amount I have for the free dining BB package maroo booked for us at POR:

Room with 1 day ticket------- $1,950/3= $650 per person
Upgrade to 8 day tix------------------= $158
Add Park Hoppers----------------------= $52
MNSSHP-------------------------------=$60
Morning Groceries----------------------=$10 pp
Flights to/from MCO--------------------=$200
Tips/Adult Drinks-----------------------=$80
Souvenirs------------------------------=$50
Extra Expenses that may happen--------=$100

$1,360 for my portion


Now, the expenses I estimated IF we were to do a room only booking:

Room Only $165 per night x 9----------=$495
Tickets for 8 days (w/PH)-------------=$295 from Undercover
Food (INCLUDING a couple adult drinks AND tips AND SNAX!) = $360
Groceries------------------------------=$10
MNSSHP-------------------------------=$60
Flights to/from MCO--------------------=$200
Souvenirs------------------------------=$50
Extras---------------------------------=$100

Grand Total: $1,570


Since I'm so kind-hearted I'll employ my calculator for you, and tell you the savings is approx. $210.

To be honest, I was really hoping to keep this trip to a very do-able $1,200, and we're already over that by $100, so some things may have to go; I'm very okay with that.

Anyway, I always like to see other peoples' musings on this subject, and would love to hear the "experts" opinions on whether the math is right or not.

Ok I'll take a crack at it.

I am assuming that $165/night for POR is full rack rate with taxes. Because the package price that was quoted to maroo would have had taxes included.

I will then assume that you will be able to get a room only discount making your per night cost approx $105. A savings of $60 per night or to you a savings of $180 total.

Now that makes the package and room only about break even. I don't know what you have planned for restaurants but at this point food is the only cost you can control. So I would do more calculations based on what you really want to do for food. Remember that the package includes tax already....when you figure out what it would cost OOP you have to add in the tax at 6.5%
