I love having adr's at different resorts, just so I can check out a new place.

We stayed at POP on our first visit and loved it. Of course, we were wdw virgins so we had no idea how nice the moderate and deluxe's were. But we really enjoyed it.

Whew, I just spent all day reading off and on catching up. I was so far behind I just picked a page (100) and read from there. Just want to let you know that my prayers are with you as you wait on Him to see what or when your next move is going to be. I too love Monk and is sad that it is now over or almost over. I wasn't able to follow it this season which makes me sad as this is/was the final season. I want to go to Nashville for your Dis meet. I love to travel and am up for anything. I do follow your blog and wanted to say that I love the quilt you made that is on the head of your blog. Looking forward to the next round of adventures with your group of soldiers.

1) Take my picture beside my birthyear marker thingy on some walkway. Do you guys know what I"m talking about? Can someone explain where these are?
Didn't do this
2) I want to eat in the food court.

3) I've heard that all the courtyards are super fun to explore and take pix in, so I'll do some of that.
Didn't do this either
4) I want to also check out the shadow boxes from year decade/ era and see which one brings back the most memories.
Forgot this one as well
5) My trusty HM book will be my constant companion, so finding some of those will be fun.
Nope, missed this
6) I'll walk over to the Generation Gap Bridge and lament that they don't have plans (as far as I understand) to complete the section I would have chosen (the 40's).
Yeah... didn't get to it
7) Hmmmm... this is where I run out of steam. ?? Oh, yeah, I will definitely be wearing my tie-dye shirt from TK when I check in here. Maybe I"ll wear it when I eat some tie-dye cheese cake too.
Now this I DID do - the cheese cake, not the shirt!
Let me hear from you!! Anything I'm missing here?

Wow, after reading this, I see that we really did not explore our resort much AT ALL. Although, in my defense, it did pour buckets 6 out of the eight days we were there. We pretty much ducked and ran from the bus to our room. We did enjoy the food court and the gift shop several times though. I think being on your own, you will be able to stop and experience the little details without all the rush rush. Its definitely a fun place.

I love your idea of touring the resorts. I like to do that too but my trips are never long enough. This trip I did stop at AKL though. It was gorgeous I think you should add it to your list. The boardwalk is fun too. Also at beach and creme (or something close to that) it would be fun to attempt to finish the kitchen sink. I don't recommend this on a single say though.:rotfl2: Disney also has the best mini golf courses.

We really love monorail Resort hopping. We'll start at the Contemporary and work our way around to the GF. We'll hang around in the lobbies..check out the Resorts..then find something to eat/drink at that Resort and soak it all in. :goodvibes

That's what I"m talking about! Just soaking it all in, grabbing a bite to eat, taking some photos, all that!

if you get the chance, go to the boardwalk in the evening and just grab a bench and enjoy the view. Nothing. Like. It.

OK, so tell me about the Boardwalk. What is the atmosphere like? How does it compare to say DTD? Shopping- any not-to-miss stores? Do tell.

Most WDW virgins have no clue, and I think that's ok; just whets the appetite for more, and gives a general feel for the place. Our first times we stayed at the Fort, and even that was cool, but now, I want to climb out of the playpen and toddle around a bit more-

WOW! Welcome back! I thought I'd lost one of my regulars, and was very sad! I saw on Saturday, that you had posted on someone else's and wondered what I had done to scare you off, then lo and behold, you had posted over here just after!! Hooray!

Thanks so much for your thoughts as we work to sort things out. Decisions like this tend to test family relationships, so specifically pray for that!

GREAT!!!!Another Nashville go-er! Very excited to have you join us! As we get closer, we'll make sure all the details are disersed widely and well in advance.

As soon as I get the fabric I ordered for the border of that quilt, I am going to get it finished and up on the auction block it will go, to to speak. Hopefully, it will pull in enough money for the next group of ladies who want to learn how to quilt over here, and a little extra for my trip.

Glad to have you back, post liberally, I always say! :lmao:

HATE THAT!! Rain that is. We got rained out the first part of our trip too last year; it sucked! So, don't blame you at all.

You know me, I'm all about fun, so glad to be staying at a place that speaks fun to so many!

Unfortunately, I agree. A trip has to be long enough to be able to do that, cuz, frankly the parks to trump the resorts with touring time- given a a choice. That's why, even with long trips, well, for me at least, I need the ADR's to sort of force myself there. I don't want to come home this time, with a "ahhh, I wish I'd done the resorts more" theme running in my mind.

The Boardwalk doesn't necessarily have any shops that would be that different than any other resort shop. It does have the Wyland Gallery, but so does the Poly.

It's the atmosphere that is most attractive. No other place has so many resorts in such close proximity. The view of the Beach Club/Yacht Club is so nice or better yet walk over and grab a seat on the beach at the Beach Club and enjoy the view of the Boardwalk.

Come ready to snack. You can grab some Nachos at the ESPN Club then head over to Seashore Sweets on the BW or Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club for a malt or some ice cream.

If you go on a weekend night, then they have performers out on the Boardwalk. During busier times, they are out more often.

I love the Boardwalk area.

I do like to wander in galleries. No kids= More gallery time.

So, it's more of a soak up the views kind of place. Sounds like some nice picture taking time to me!

OK, now we're talking! I love nachos, and can easily seeing myself doing this!! The big plus is that I can check out that whole bunch of resorts at the same time. I haven't ever gone even close to any of them, and what better way to do it than to grab some grub and go!?

So, back to the drawing board to see where it will fit in.

Here we go:

1) Take my picture beside my birthyear marker thingy on some walkway. Do you guys know what I"m talking about? Can someone explain where these are?
They are near the lake. They have the year and a important event from that year that has to do with Pop culture. It is fun to read through each one.

2) I want to eat in the food court.
This is a surprisingly good food court with so many different choices.

3) I've heard that all the courtyards are super fun to explore and take pix in, so I'll do some of that.
We didn't even make it to all the sections to get all the different pics. You have to do this during the day and at night too!

4) I want to also check out the shadow boxes from year decade/ era and see which one brings back the most memories.
Really cool! There must be close to 40 of them.

5) My trusty HM book will be my constant companion, so finding some of those will be fun.
Naturally! ;)
6) I'll walk over to the Generation Gap Bridge and lament that they don't have plans (as far as I understand) to complete the section I would have chosen (the 40's).
We never made it onto the bridge.... but I have a picture of it! LOLOL
7) Hmmmm... this is where I run out of steam. ?? Oh, yeah, I will definitely be wearing my tie-dye shirt from TK when I check in here. Maybe I"ll wear it when I eat some tie-dye cheese cake too.
Yes.. try the cheesecake. It is pretty good!

Let me hear from you!! Anything I'm missing here?
1. You can hula hoop near the RAC... right outside the door near the check in desk.
2. You can have an adult cocktail at Petals.
3. You can do the twist in the food court at 8am or the hustle at 5pm.
4. There is always shopping to be done at Everything Pop. There is a big selection there.
5. Play Twister in the 70's section!
6. Get a good spot in the 60's section on a high floor. You can see Illuminations from there.
7. Pool hop in all 3 Pop pools.
8. Play a video game in the arcade. (OK now I'm grasping for straws here LOLOL)
9. Make a new friend!:flower3:

Here are a few ideas for the POP portion of your trip.:hippie:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Lookie who pulled back into town!! :scared1:

Tim's back! You had me really worried that things were not well. Everything ok?

Just one banana Liesa? I heard they need to come in sets of 3. I'm happy Tim's back also so here are two more!:banana:

I knew he'd have great advice on POP.

Yes, an amateur mistake- they do need to come in 3's!

Except this one- it's a natural 3, and perfect for the TC3:dance3:

I knew he'd have good advice too!! So glad he's come out of hiding. Ok, ok, so he was working, blah, blah, blah.

So, I was going to put up another big post tonight, but not till super late my time. Stay tuned...

It indeed would be rather ugly. I CAN do a pretty mean hokey pokey, hustle AND might even try the twist. That too, however may end in disaster. :rotfl2:
