....didn't get to watch Oklahoma then, but I DID watch it this afternoon!:faint: *sigh*

Hi all!

Sorry I haven't posted my trip reports. I've got'em typed mostly typed up, just need to post them.

Hope everyone had a great holiday! Was hectic with trying to get things done after returning on the 21st. Had to plan my DS's 5th birthday too! His birthday is Christmas, so planning has been crazy

Anyhoo, will post the first couple days of trip reports tomorrow (I promise) and I'll post the links here.

I will say that the lodge was beautiful (as always), just ran into a few pitfalls. Not to shock anyone, but I did happen to go over to the giant toaster in the sky and check out a tower room. The theming stinks (or lack there of) - but I'll tell you what, the SIZE of the rooms is unbelievable. DH wants to stay there our next trip and Il have to say that I agree.

Anyhow, I'll give all the details tomorrow.

By the way, we were able to be Flag Family on the 19th! Was awesome! Ranger Stan is such a beautiful person. I couldn't even begin to explain. He's just one of those people that you meet that touch you a certain way.

OK, I'm off. "See" you tomorrow!

Ranger Stan is great indeed. He made our experience wonderfull too! Glad you got to do it. What a great view eh?

As for the toaster, I agree about the rooms. Looks like we may be on for the Poly this time unless a room opens up at the Lodge. Long story and I won't explain here. It has to do with the "connections" I have at the World.

Anyway, looking forward to your reports. Did you get to go see the box?

Fred

I am back, of course, DW has already posted that. Had a wonderful stay at WDW, but who doesn't. Really enjoyed the Poly. It is different from the WL. Overall themeing is alot better at WL. The only advantage the Poly has over WL is the size of the rooms, they are huge, and the monorail access. And contrary to DW's post, we will not be switching homes. However if there is a good AP rate this summer, we will try the Poly or GF again. Would like more time to explore and with the kids and the stroller and all, the extra room really helps. The main pool is about the same size as the WL, maybe a little bigger and the slide is definitely longer, BUT it is completely in the dark. You enter the tunnel and don't come out until you are at the pool. NOT for small kids and some grown ups. So in short if you get the chance to try the Poly (Aspiring Cindy), go for it. WL is still my favorite, but the Poly has some advantages.

Time to start planning the July trip.

And Fred, congrats on the upcoming trip.

FC, did you hear my horn as I went through on Saturday?

OK, back to the work grind!!

I agree about the rooms at the Poly and toaster..HUGE!!! But I really like the "feel" of being in a different place that the WL gives me...
I stayed at the Poly the first year of my mommy and me annual trips..it was really great, but I never got to go in the pool..it was under construction then ( maybe why I got the room so dirt cheap) the next year I went to CR and was REALLY disappointed..I hated the color and the walk to and from the North wing...I also swore that I would never stay in a convention resort again...it was crazy with business people!!

Enough of that...I am starting to get excited about my trip...I am going to file my taxes electronically next week and that always makes it more real for me, then I have the "refund" countdown and POOF, before I know it, I am in the WORLD!!!!

Have a great day...Looking forward to the trip reports!!

Isn't that nice....the mods took away my signature!!

Did you mean, "NOT for small kids and LARGE grown ups?". :teeth:

We are looking forward to the trip and still don't know where we are going to be staying! :) Hoping WL comes through but not sure as of yet.

Fred

I will let each person decide for themselves. It will fit LARGE grown ups fine. The part that makes it not for everyone is that it is pitch black dark in the tunnel. So if the combination of pitch black and water doesn't bother you, go for it!!:p

Corky,
Glad you and your family had a great Chirstmas. Ok when is your next trip? :earsboy:

no...they sent me a PM about it...I guess you can't have more the 40k bytes and mine was 80...plus, you are only suppose to have 8 or nine lines in the page.

Oh, sorry I may have to adjust mine also I may have more then eight lines guess the Moose will have to go. (or would that be part of my clip-art???)

Thanks Betsy,

After some scrunching & abbreviating I should be OK now..if not I'm sure I'll get a PM from the Moderator.

"HAPPY HOLIDAYS to KIMMAR...and all you other WL friends!" BTW...has anyone read the "Magic disappearing at WL" thread? I posted a couple times. Interesting...indeed. I personally LOVE the WL, and enjoy everything from the Lobby, Restaurants and views...to the pool, trails and animals!

VIVA LA WILDERNESS LODGE!

Trip reports for 12/12 - 12/14 are up.

Day 0 - Check-In

Day 1

Day 2

Enjoy. I'll slowly get the rest up too.

Dreamflight99 - I haven't seen that thread. I'd be VERY interested in reading the comments. Can you post a link?

dreamflight99

Yes, I have seen that thread. It's very long. I haven't posted on it as it is getting pretty "sticky". I think it's time for it do "die"......

People seem to either "hate" or "love" WL, there never seems to be a middle ground.

One thing that has always stuck me as rather peculure, is WL always seems to be held to a higher standard transportation wise. Every resort, except for AKL shares transportation. The Epcot resorts have about 5 on one line. Why do people get so bend out of shape that WL shares with FW? In the morning, WL is the first stop, GF is the next & last. Noone ever complains about GF "sharing".

Oh well, to each his own!!
