If you read pages 1 & 2, ths will help you a lot. AC's post has valuable room information and WL Layout gives you an understanding how the Lodge is laid out. Rooms in the Bear's Face open to the lobby and the balcony's face Bay Lake, They are classified as Courtyard View. Then come back and ask away.

Itis a "best kept secret" of WDW. It is a blast and a must do for us. There is the Checkwagon, that has the Smore fixins, Hot Dog, Popcorn and you name it and prices are very reasonable.

The easist way is to take the Launch to FW, go to the Bus stop by Trails End and take the Orange bus to Meadows trading Post, Go through the TP and the Campfie is behind there.

Thank you, FloridaCat. I had already read several of the first few pages of this thread and did find that info to be very valuable. I probably should've phrased my question something like this:

Do any of the courtyard view rooms that overlook the lobby also have bunkbeds, and if so, could you please give me a few room numbers to request?

Thank you! You all seem like a great group of people on this thread :)

Room 4087 would fit that description. When you fax in your requests, list your question on it. Many rooms, all views, have bunk Beds. An example " We prefer a Lobby Courtyard room, with Bunk Beds".

Good luck and enjoy the Magic of the Lodge. It is a vacation of it's own.

Morning, Morning, Morning!!!

I am thinking about making a run to WL one Saturday and scoping out the rooms and numbers...Just to get a better idea of what room I want.
I am almost set...I like the north side Lobby/Inside courtyard..Just above the Pin traders cart...does that sound good...or 4121...I am so torn!!!!!
LOL

Roy - You WL "experience" is on its way

ok...back to dreaming!

(PS ~ please say prayers for AC's and my mom...Dr.'s told her she needs a pacemaker and has 3 major arteries clogged. Unfortunately, she retired in Puerto Rico and really needs to get back here to the NYC metro area to get a 2nd opinion...:( )

Kimmer...

{{{{HUGS AND PRAYERS TO YOUR MOM AND FAMILY}}}}}}}

Hope your mom feels better, and yes,,get her over here. We have some of the top DR's in the US. My dad has a pacemaker and a really good cardiologist. Dr. Howard Feldman, Maimonides Hospital, Bklyn, NY..Top cardio hospital.
He was the only DR that diagnosed my father after he had blacked out several times..Other Dr's didnt pinpoint his problem..He was having severe arrythmia and the blood wasnt going to his brain. When they gave him a cardiogram,,it didnt show up..but Dr Feldman diagnosed it. Awful..but he is OK now.

PD coming your way:jester:

Hi definetly lots of PRAYERS and PIXIE DUST for your, and AC'S mom! Will be thinking of you both!

All of you will be in my Evening prayers. PD & {{{{{HUGS}}}}} all around.

OH MY GOSH!

Just miss a week of reading and posting, and we are on page 43!!! :faint: How will I ever catch up on reading??? It's been very hectic here lately, DS14 had a little health issue that needs to be resolved, and it's kept us pretty busy for the past week. I wanted to get my WL dates picked this past week, but we didn't get a chance to sit down with the rest of the "crew" and talk it over. Time is flying by! I can't wait to see my countdown clock when I post this.
Kimmar I'm sure that when you get your mom back here to see a cardiologist, everything will go well. God is good. Prayers to you and your family.

Okay............now I'm going to back up and try reading a few pages...........:scared1:

Hi Kimmar! :wave2:

First of all, I pray that everything will go well with your mother. When will she be able to get back to the US?? My 48 yr old brother recently had a pacemaker put in. My FIL had one put in last year. I hope that your mom will make a full recovery!

Secondly, we've been wanting to try out the WL for a long time now :) It looks like an awesome resort! Currently, we're deciding between the WL and the Polynesian for our short stay following our Disney cruise next summer. I do love the CBR but since this stay will be a short one, we want to be in a "better" location, and not have to rely soley on bus transportation.

Kimmar- thoughts are with your mother, you, and Aspiring Cindy.

WiscMomof2- thanks for your answer to my question! That helps a lot.

Kimmar,

Prayers for your Mom and families. Extra :grouphug: and Pixie Dust for you and Cindy.

Kim, PD to you and Cindy. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Secondly, my Wilderness Lodge Photo Gallery surpassed 20,000 visits this weekend. Obviously a busy place! :)

Anyone want to send me balcony pics? Please do! Send them to wdwwl@majesticnetworks.net and make sure they aren't SUPER LARGE! :)

Good morning all!

Fred

Just popping in to say good morning and catch up on the 7 or so pages I missed. This new job is keeping me busy and don't have alot of time to get on the DIS.

Kimmar, prayers go out for your mom and all of your family.

Many prayers. I've gone through many heart problems w/ my family too. My father had a heart attack at 57 & my dh had (& has) congestive heart failure last year at 39.
The best dr's are here, in the NYC metro area or in the Mayo clinic. (My father is fortunate to live close to the Mayo.)

Many wishes for a safe journey for your Mom.

Five more days before our first trip to Disney and the Wilderness Lodge!!!! I'm off to the travel agent to finalize everything. Trouble is, I can't remember making any room requests, and I'm assuming we have a standard room... is this a bad thing? If it IS a bad thing, anything i can do about it at this point? Next week is not a vacation week, but I'm also wondering if it makes sense to try to get a dinner package for Fantasmic (there's only one show a night when we are going), or if we won't need it or if it's too late at this point to do that. My daughter is 5 and my son will be turning 7 during our trip. I don't want to overschedule myself, and as I mentioned when I first posted on this thread last week (though I've been lurking for months) we do have Mickey's Backyard BBQ and a character breakfast planned at the Grand Floridian. Any advice would be much appreciated. SO EXCITED!
